Thanks to the amazing Eddie from Eddie Judd Photography for today’s Personal Branding shoot. I’m definitely not a natural in front of the camera - my cheek muscles have had one heck of a work out, no more smiling from me this evening - but she was a pro from start to finish, putting me at ease and helping me perfect the faux laugh!!

My daughter's been learning about puberty this term, a topic that starts with an overview of the lifecycle of all living things.

Interestingly though, when discussing the lifecycle of humans, there is no conversation had about the menopause and the 5-10 years leading up to it, the peri-menopause.

Neglecting to introduce this key phase in a woman's life cycle, at the earliest opportunity, seems an oversight to me.

Fortunately, the secondary school curriculum has very recently been updated to include Menopause.

However in my opinion, menopause should never be absent from a conversation about the complex lifecycle of us incredible ladies!

With more of us having our children into our 30's/40's it's becoming common to find Mothers and Daughters navigating polar opposite fluctuations of hormones simultaneously.

Surviving that scenario almost certainly takes oodles of empathy and patience, but it also helps if you are equipped with knowledge.

Challenging client upper body and abs session this morning in the aesthetically pleasing surrounds of the studio garden bursting to life.

Physical activity in nature has been proven to have both mood enhancing and stress reducing benefits.

I'd hypothesize that the positive stimulus to our senses when engaging in outdoor training can also change our perception of effort, making those Farmer Walks, and Slam Ball Catches seem so much more doable!

So my family's apparent immunity to COVID was tested and disproven this past couple of weeks 'gifting' us a return to home working, home schooling and fortunately only a few days of feeling grotty.

When a cardio or strength session wasn't on the cards, the hairiest and most spoilt Nash ensured that we all still got a dose of activity, were out in nature and felt mentally grounded.

Getting a daily fix of natures finest whilst walking is proven to elevate mood, improve sleep quality, and can help you achieve your fitness and weight-loss goals.
