A little show of my appreciation for those who made my final yoga class of the year.

It is a real delight to share space with you.

I created 2 lotion bars:

'A walk in the woods' is a delightful blend of various butters, green tea, chamomile and cedar oil.

'Just a little more' has the same butter base but with argan oil, apricot kernel oil, macadamia nut oil, bisabolol and arnica.

Hopefully these beautiful fatty acids will nurture their skin and protect it from this particularly cold winter. Looking forward to their feedback.

Thanks Yoginis for a great year.

As a family we have supplemented vitamin D for many years now...this is thoughtful reading

Over 300 Professors and Doctors Call For Increased Vitamin D Use To Combat COVID-19.

As the evidence grows for the importance of vitamin D for COVID-19 prevention professors, doctors and scientists have collectively written to Governments and medical authorities to encourage recommending its use for prevention. The letter, which is available at https://vitamindforall.org/letter.html also shows what they, the experts, take themselves and recommend. Collectively, they recommend between 2,000 and 4,000iu a day, based on the evidence. I take 3,000iu you day.

What you need depends on your blood levels. Their recommendation is eat and supplement whatever you need to achieve 25(OH)D serum levels over 75nmol/L ((30ng/ml), which is a widely endorsed minimum with evidence of reduced COVID-19 risk. In the UK a level below above 50nmol/l is considered adequate, but this is not enough to reduce your risk significantly. Sun exposure is a major source of vitamin D so if you live far from the Equator, especially in winter, you are going to need a lot more.

In a nutshell, they say that higher vitamin D blood levels are associated with lower rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Higher D levels are also associated with lower risk of a severe case (hospitalization, ICU, or death). Intervention studies (including RCTs) indicate that vitamin D can be a very effective treatment. Many papers reveal several biological mechanisms by which vitamin D influences COVID-19. Causal inference modelling, the intervention studies & the biological mechanisms indicate that vitamin D’s influence on COVID-19 is very likely causal, not just correlation.

Along with vitamin C, I would recommend everyone to take vitamin D to help prevent covid and minimise duration and severity of infection. That’s what vitamin D experts and medics all over the world are saying.

'Concentrate on the heart. Enter into it ; go within deep and far as you can. Gather all the strings of your consciousness, roll them up and take a plunge and sink down. A fire is burning there, in the deep quietude of the heart. It is the divinity in you - your true being. Hear it's voice, follow it's dictates' The Mother

I adore teaching yoga - you get to hang out with lovely peeps, share energy and move in a way that connects you to something greater than ourselves and makes you feel darn good.

During the first lockdown l decided to stop...no classes...no zoom. I fortunately had a great lockdown 1 experience, gardening, studying and being with family.

Face to face classes then resumed briefly....and now back into lockdown.

With encouragement from my students l taught my first Zoom class today.

I am so grateful to them for having my back and nudging me out of my comfort zone. They are a great bunch and it's a pleasure sharing space with you...💜...see you next week x

Hey lovely yogis, how are you all doing? These are strange days...hopefully you're staying safe and well.

I have days when I'm full of energy and focus and others when l feel I'm going in circles not really 'accomplishing' anything...but that's ok...

The day is punctuated around meal times and my boys needs. But there are moments of clarity and real joy, have you noticed how clean everything is? The air?

I'm fortunate to have an allotment and it's teaming with life - bees collecting nectar from the apple blossom, ants, butterflies, slow worms...newts in the pond. Everything is 'zinging' with life. It has always been so, but...these days, this time...l can really feel it.

Prana.

Thank you to those of you who have downloaded the audios - l hope they're helping.

Om Shanti 🧡

Our Story

Sivananda yoga is a classical style of yoga. Each class follows and develops around a set sequence of 12 postures which are known to stretch out the body, increasing flexibility and strength. Relaxation and breathing exercises are used to recharge and rejuvenate. The body and mind learn to work in unison linked together by the breath.

Restorative yoga is utilised throughout a class when appropriate - especially for the final relaxation phase of the class. Bolsters, blankets, blocks are used to support the body enabling the body to drop into a deeper state of relaxation and rest - entering the healing space our bodies crave and need.

All levels welcome, small classes allows for individual attention and variations of the asanas that are suitable to you. One to one classes available too.
