On this International Women’s Day, I’m feeling super grateful for all the inspiring women in my life - my incredible friends, business women, empowering networking communities, and these two amazing women.
Tara Stiles, the founder of , created to be accessible and welcoming, and rooted in Chinese and Japanese medicine rather than a lineage to a guru. I’ve always had a strong sense of equality in my bones and I appreciate the way Tara is true to herself and presents herself as equal with others, always keen to learn from the Strala guides and inspiring people. She has created an incredible community, which she supports wholeheartedly, building up confidence across all our projects. Strala foundations are foundations for life, for leadership, for love. (See my LinkedIn post re Strala principles on leadership). Tara is so positive and is wonderful to be around.
Uma Dinsmore-Tuli is a powerhouse, constantly creating, writing and leading trainings and retreats. She has written two 700 page tomes or encyclopedias on the subject and is quick to point out that no one can claim to own or copyright yoga nidra as it is a human birthright and natural way of being. She is full of energy and smiles.
Both Tara and Uma have called out abuse on yoga schools and gurus without fear because it is the right thing to do. Where there is an imbalance of power, there is potential danger. They sit in equality with all living beings, not above us in a seat of power. There is no worship or obedience required but they earn our utmost respect for their life’s work and creativity.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
