You don’t need an insulated container…

At 1st Containers, we regularly speak with customers who assume an insulated container is the only option for safe storage. But the truth is, in many cases, a standard shipping container does the job just as well, at a lower cost.

Insulated containers are ideal for temperature-sensitive goods- such as food products, pharmaceuticals, or electronics. They help maintain a more stable internal environment, reducing the risk of condensation and heat damage.

However, they’re not always necessary, especially when:
You're storing tools, machinery, or furniture that won’t be affected by ambient temperatures.
The container is used for short-term or seasonal storage, particularly during milder months.

What You Need to Do:
Pick a solid, level site - Concrete or compacted gravel is best.
Make sure there’s enough space – Allow 30–50ft of clear space, depending on the container size.
Check access - Clear any low branches, tight corners, or narrow entrances.
Please let us know in advance - If your site has restricted access, tight corners, or any other potential delivery challenges, please let us know in advance - even better, send over some photos or a quick video. We can advise you or check with the haulier directly to help avoid any delays or unexpected failed delivery charges.
