All patients aged 80 and over and those living in a care home for older adults can now get the RSV vaccine.
The vaccine has been proven to reduce the chance of those aged 75 and over from being hospitalised with an RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) infection and is 82 per cent effective.
Eligible patients will be invited by their surgery to receive the vaccine and care home residents will receive it via their care home.

Dr Muttu: Formal Notice

A sense of deep loss has settled over the practice following the passing of Dr Muttu, its respected Practice Owner and Clinical Director.

Dr Muttu, known among colleagues and patients alike for unwavering dedication and compassionate leadership, played a central role in shaping the practice and its values. The news has been met with heartfelt sadness across the team, many of whom are now navigating a period of grief while reflecting on the lasting impact of his work and character.

Staff members have described Dr Muttu as not only a skilled clinician, but also a supportive mentor and guiding presence whose influence extended far beyond the consultation room. His commitment to patient care and to fostering a strong, caring team leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

During this difficult time, the practice has asked for patience and understanding from patients, acknowledging that some colleagues may find the coming days especially challenging. Despite the loss, the team remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering high-quality care, continuing the standards that Dr Muttu championed.

The practice has also expressed sincere gratitude for the kindness, compassion, and support shown by patients and the wider community as they come to terms with this profound loss.

Further updates will be shared in due course as the team honours Dr Muttu’s memory and continues his legacy of care.

NHS App ‘Push Alerts’
A new survey has confirmed that nearly 1 in 4 people have missed an NHS appointment because they forgot or arrived too late, and the survey also found there were 16 million ‘no shows’ for GP appointments in England in 2025.
To combat this issue, we would urge people to turn on ‘push alerts’ from the NHS App so they get reminders about appointments and can rearrange any they can’t make, helping to free up millions of appointments for others.
For information on how to set up push alerts, and also how to sign up for the app if you have not already done so, click this link
