Dry Cupping - What is it? 🤔

An alternative therapy, dry cupping utilises ‘cups’ (glass or plastic) placed onto areas of tightness.

A vacuum is then formed with the cup and underlying tissues.
These cups are left in place or massaged around the area.

They aim to:
1️⃣Promote Blood Flow
2️⃣Facilitate Healing
3️⃣Reduce Pain
4️⃣Relax

Does it hurt? You may feel a mild pressure, but no, dry cupping does not hurt. You may however be left with a mild bruise to the skin from the vacuum formed, but this will go away.

Cupping is great for anyone with muscular tightness and pain, and very popular in the sporting community for recovery.

We offer cupping as a stand-alone therapy or part of massage here MEDX Sport Medicine 🙌🏻

⚽️🏉🧪 Blood Results within 38 HOURS?!!

🤕Our athlete came to for injury assessment and rehab assistance. We discussed lifestyle factors and it was decided a Sports Profile blood test would be beneficial at this stage to aid recovery and boost ongoing performance.

⏰Their results came back within 38hours!

From this info, we’ve:
➡️made dietary changes to improve HDL
➡️included extra lymphatic drainage to recovery massages to help with removal of WBCs
➡️encouraged hydration to help with removal of WBCs
➡️ added WELLNESS RECOVERY IV DRIPS to their treatment plan to ensure they’re getting vitamins,
Minerals & Amino Acids to enhance recovery.

➡️👩🏻‍⚕️We also made sure they sought additional information from their GP and, together, have included a testosterone supplement. Their testosterone will be tested again in 6weeks time.
