As some of you know I am taking part in the Great North Run next sunday. But during September I am also taking part in the Worcester 10k & the Forest of Dean half marathon! This is what comes from the endorphin high after running a marathon; you think you can do anything! Ha!
Anyway, I'm raising money for Dravet Syndrome UK, & have devised an on-line cake sale so that if you sponsor me you get something for you money.
Here's how it works: I will bake you one of the following; a Victoria Sandwich, a Welsh tea bread, a lemon drizzle cake or a dozen muffins ( either choc chip, blueberry, or rasperry & white choc chip) for a donation of at least £5.
I also have some pots of homemade plum jam which you can have for £2.50 per pot.
Just donate at my justgiving page here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lynn-ratcliffe8

Examples of the cakes below. I will deliver or you can collect. Just let me know what you would like.
Thank you!

As you already know I completed the London Marathon on Sunday.
The reason I put myself ( and my friends & famly) through this is to raise money for the amazing charity which is the nct.
This charity provides support & information to new parents in the first 1000 days of parenthood & has helped 1000s in the 65 years it's been around.
I was an nct baby & many of you will have benefitted from services it provides: antenatal classes, yoga classes, baby massage, breastfeeding counselling, nearly new sales, bumps & babies, toddlers & twins groups.
Every penny you donate will go to the charity and into parent support, with 1/3 staying in the Vale of Evesham branch.
A huge "thank you" to everyone who has already donated. There is a fantastic £2,278.73 in the pot. I'd love to get it to £2500 before the end of June.

Training for the VMLM
They say that running a marathon is just the last 26.2 miles of hundreds of miles & hours of training.
So I thought I’d tot up mine & shocked myself!
Since 1st October my legs have run 392.5 miles. That’s the distance from Evesham to Newcastle & back again. It’s taken a total of 70.5 hours which is nearly 3 days.
People that have shared that mileage are pals from Evesham Vale Running club, including Nikki, Sam, Maria, Isabel, Kirsty & Marcus; Other VMLM runners Nat & Tina; Pershore Plum Plodders Anny & Trevor; Keith, and great friends Mark & Martin. They have supported me, encouraged me & kept me going when I doubted myself.
I’ve now completed the lion’s share of the training, having done my final long run of 20 miles in 4.5 hours yesterday. So now it’s just a case of tapering with shorter runs to keep the legs moving & the muscles working so that I don’t go into the Marathon on “tired legs” on 28th April.
As today is Mothering Sunday it seems pertinent to say that the reason I am doing this is to raise money for the Vale of Evesham NCT, a local branch of the national charity, which provides new parents with information & support from conception through their parenting journey to when their baby is about 2 years old, ie the first 1000 days of parenthood. It campaigns for better maternity & parenting provision & better mental health services at government level, runs a national infant feeding line, as well as providing local support for parents like bumps & babies, breastfeeding counselling, nearly new sales, and toddler groups. NCT antenatal, postnatal, yoga & introducing solids classes offer top quality facilitation from practitioners who are trained to degree level & where, unlike other paid-for classes, any surplus is ploughed back into the charity to provide more funds for support & to subsidise parents on low incomes.
So if you can spare any cash please sponsor me. You can send £5 to LYNR60 to 70070 from any network, or if you want to donate a different amount go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lynn-ratcliffe7
Thank you to everyone who has already donated. We’ve almost reached the target. It would be fantastic to smash it today!
