I would like share some useful information
A recent doctors appointment for a check up revealed that i was pre-diabetic and one of the biggest causes in middle aged men and women is alcohol even if like me you are only a light to moderate drinker.
I am now Alcohol free 69 days and counting, all my firsts without Alcohol , first birthday, first Christmas , first New year, first plane flight and now my first holiday.
I created rules only to drink on weekends but then a glass of wine on day, thats not weekend because you had a stressful Wednesday is so easy to do and excuses can come so easy.. does that sound familiar . I gave up last year for 3 months for a new years resolution but then went back to my old habbits.
But after I had my wake up call, after a routine blood test, I made the decision to stop alcohol and now I have completely reversed my pre-diabetes score and I am back to normal blood results and I feel my sleep and general health is so much better.
Big change that helped me in giving up alcohol was reading this book "Alcohol explained" its a simple easy to read, and Ive done an free online course the naked mind 5 day challenge which can shifts youre mindset ... where facts are laid out. Thats when I realised, Alcohol is a highly addictive, no wonder its not easy to cut down. I thought it was a substance to that help me relax at weekends. Great to socialise and share a bottle of wine with friends , Alcohol is fully accepted celebrate, christmas , birthdays anything really.
I wish someone told me the facts ... I share this information in case you want to know the truth .. if your'e curious .. if you have struggled to moderate in the past and you have beat your'e self up , .. . No judgement here ... I would love to hear youre thoughts ..
