Within care, we are always encouraging and supporting others to reach their milestones and celebrating progress; whether that’s with the people we support or within our own lives.

Over the weekend, our Marketing and Customer Service Administrator, Ella, took on a 10K race in one of our local areas, Tewkesbury. She smashed her goal; aiming for under 60 minutes, she crossed the finish line in an impressive 56 minutes and 41 seconds!

We’re excited to introduce a new addition to our care - the Bluebird Care Assist Box 💙

This innovative digital health-monitoring tool allows our trained care professionals to record key vital signs during visits, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and oxygen levels. By establishing a clear baseline, we can identify early changes and ensure any concerns are escalated promptly to the right clinical teams.

We’ll be using the Assist Box during initial visits, with ongoing checks every six months, helping us spot changes early and support truly preventative care.

This is all part of our commitment to bringing healthcare closer to home. By sharing timely, structured information with GPs, district nurses, and other healthcare professionals, we’re strengthening collaboration and supporting better outcomes for the people we care for. ⭐

This July, the Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon Team will be coming together to walk 26 miles through the beautiful Cotswolds, in support of Alzheimer's Society.

For Toni, this challenge is in honour of her Grandma. For Ella, it’s in memory of her beloved Grandad. Watching someone you love slowly change because of dementia is something that stays with you forever.

Just two weeks later, some of the team will be doing it all again, taking on another 26 miles across the Yorkshire Moors. Because this cause matters.

Did you know…

This month we are celebrating Mabel, who has hit a huge milestone, with her 9 year work anniversary! What an achievement! Mabel is one of our Live-In Carers and, in two words, she is our “pocket rocket.” The dedication she has within her role, ensuring her care is person centred, and focusing on building strong relationships and trust. Of course, she never fails to make us laugh with her crazy sense of humour.

We now have Si King supporting us as our Dementia Awareness Ambassador! 🏡

You’ll know Si from TV series The Hairy Bikers, alongside his dear friend Dave Myers, who sadly passed away in 2024 after a two-year battle with cancer, during which he received home care support.
Dementia awareness is also close to Si’s heart as his mum lived with Alzheimer’s before passing in 2015.

Together, we’re raising awareness of the importance of good care... Within this, Bluebird Care (UK) have curated the Good Care Guide, a document containing clear and practical advice on the many different options available, helping families across the UK start confident conversations about care.
