👉Massage is back in the headlines with The Guardian asking how healthy massage really is and spotlighting its role in supporting people living with pain, cancer, long term conditions, anxiety and sleep problems. It is a rare piece of mainstream coverage that actually acknowledges touch as part of healthcare, not just a spa extra. 

For GCMT council members who support you, the therapist, this is a reminder that what you do is skilled work. A well trained, thoughtful, evidence informed therapist can offer so much more than ‘just a massage’, helping clients feel safer in their bodies, less overwhelmed and better supported alongside wider medical care. I’ve just finished an incredible few days completing a Lymphoedema management course. The learning at times was intense, but also inspiring, and genuinely transformative. I had the privilege of meeting so many amazing, like-minded therapists who share the same passion for helping others.

I also met phenomenal nurses who are truly leading the way with new research and approaches to support people living with debilitating lymphoedema. Their dedication and innovation are nothing short of inspiring, and I feel honoured to have been taught by them.

Feeling inspired, supported, and more motivated than ever. 💙✨

For the first time in my lifetime, I can honestly say I love my job. Taking the leap to running my own business was pretty scary, and there are definitely hard days where you question if you will succeed. However, there are so many wonderful days, where I get to meet so many different people. I learn from them, I feel their experiences, their joys and sorrows.
