Secondary Care Blood Tests

Patients who are having treatment through their local hospital are often required to have regular blood tests. Generally, patients are provided with a label that they bring to the surgery and our nurses will take blood on the hospital’s behalf.

From 30th September this process will be changing. The hospital will provide you with arrangements to have blood taken at another site e.g. Whipton or Tiverton.

Where labels for blood samples have already been provided in advance, the surgery will of course honour them.

Flu and Covid Vaccinations – Autumn/Winter 2024

As with previous boosters, the Autumn/Winter Covid booster is available to everyone over 65 years old, and those over 18 who are ‘Immunosuppressed’. The Flu vaccine is available to everyone over 65, and those over 18 who have a long term condition that places them in the ‘High Risk’ group. Where patients are eligible for both vaccinations they will be given at the same time.

We will begin vaccinating in October, and will contact those eligible in the near future with information on when to attend the surgery.

Now is a good time to update the surgery with mobile phone and e-mail details
