TOPIC TUESDAY: The importance of Supporting a Small Business 👩‍💼

I don’t think people realise how much goes on behind the scenes of a small business… especially when you’re a mum, self-funded, and doing it all with no safety net.

I started my business in my front room, and in that first year I barely took any money home. I was working full-time at the hospital, and every penny I earned went straight back into growing The Edgy Therapist.

Then I moved to Woodbury, paying £500–£600 a month in rent. I cut down my hospital hours to build my client base… but that meant the shifts I did work were the only income I had to cover my home bills. I still couldn’t take a salary from my business — everything went into rent and building the next stage of this dream.

Now I have a whole premises to run. Which is incredible — but it also means I’m responsible for business rent, bills, stock, fees, upkeep, my home bills, and childcare costs until April when we finally receive the 15 free hours.

It’s a lot. Especially coming back from maternity leave, losing maternity pay, and only being able to work part-time.

December and January are two of the quietest, most difficult months for small businesses — slow bookings, high costs, and many of us wondering how we’ll make it through.
That’s why so many of us rely on people buying gift vouchers at Christmas. They genuinely help keep us afloat during the quiet season.

So today’s TOPIC TUESDAY is simple:

What small business have you supported this year for Christmas? 🎄

Because when you shop small, you’re not supporting a corporation —
you’re supporting a family, a dream, a woman doing her absolute best, and someone who has sacrificed their own salary for years to keep their doors open.

✨ SOULFUL SUNDAY — FROST FAYRE MAGIC

This year’s Frost Fayre felt different…
Not just because Glastonbury always holds its own kind of wild magic…
But because of who was with us.

Ashley’s parents drove all the way down from Nottingham,
and his mum — who I’ve always shared a deep, witchy, intuitive connection with — walked the streets of Avalon right beside me.
She even came to our Halloween spell-casting workshop, so bringing her here felt like completing a circle.

Ashley’s daughters, Maisie and Lyla, came along too, with Maisie’s boyfriend —
and of course little Paisley bundled up with me and Ashley.
Three generations… all held by the same sacred land.

And the day itself?
Wild in the most Glastonbury way.
Free spirits dancing in the streets, souls expressing themselves without apology, the kind of raw, electric energy that only Avalon can stir awake.
It felt alive.
Unfiltered.
Like the land itself was celebrating.

I’ve been to the Frost Fayre before with friends…
but this year felt like the beginning of a tradition —
a family pilgrimage wrapped in lights, freedom, magic, and the soft hum of sacred earth beneath our feet.

🌱 Topic Tuesday: The Moment You Say “Yes” to Reiki Level 1

Today, I want to honour the three beautiful souls who stepped forward, trusted their intuition, and completed their Reiki Level 1 with me.

Reiki 1 isn’t just a training —
it’s an initiation.
A remembering.
A homecoming.

When a student receives their attunement, they join a lineage.
My lineage.
Our lineage.
The same stream of light that flows through my teachers, my teacher’s teachers, and all those who came before us.

Watching each of them soften, open, and realise “I can do this… it’s already in me” is one of the most profound parts of my work.

Even while navigating new motherhood, the energy still finds a way to move through me. Teaching reminds me that healing doesn’t pause — it evolves.

Here’s to the ones who said yes.
Yes to healing.
Yes to intuition.
Yes to becoming channels for light — for themselves first, and maybe one day for others.

I’m so proud of you. 💫
