You know that feeling after a really good yoga class — calm, connected, and wishing you could stay in that space a bit longer? ✨

Our Yoga Foundation Course was created for people who want more of that — time to go deeper, understand the why behind the practice, and feel real progress unfold.

Over five weekends, you’ll explore movement, breathwork, meditation, and the philosophy that shapes yoga, all in a supportive small group setting. Perfect for curious students and anyone thinking about teacher training in the future.

When the Devon skies turn grey and the rain settles in, there’s nothing better than something nourishing from the DSY kitchen to lift the spirit. This simple, hearty recipe from Andrea and Duncan is a longtime retreat favourite—perfect for bringing warmth and calm to your winter days. Try it - let us know how you get on!

Leek and Pea Soup

Serves 4–6

Ingredients
1 x medium to large brown onion (peeled and roughly chopped)
A little cooking oil (approx 1 tablespoon)
4 x largish leeks (approx 550g after trimming and slicing, tough outer edges removed)
800ml vegetable stock (I use Kallo yeast-free vegetable stock cubes—1.5 cubes)
2 cups (approx 300g) frozen peas
150ml soya milk
Black pepper and salt if needed

Method
Fry the onion in the oil over a gentle heat without browning until it softens – a few minutes. Wash the trimmed and sliced leeks and add to the pan, stirring to coat in the oil and onion. Cover the pan and cook over a gentle heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover with the vegetable stock and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or so until the leeks are tender. Add the peas to the pan, bring back to the boil and simmer for about 3 or 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and blend using a hand blender. Lastly add the soya milk and blend a bit more. (If too thick, add a little more water or soya milk). Season with black pepper and a little salt if required.

Our Yoga Foundation Course is for students who want steady, supported time to build confidence, refine their practice and discover aspects of yoga that rarely fit into a class – including breathing practices, relaxation, meditation and simple philosophy.

You’ll spend five weekends in beautiful settings, learning in a small group with experienced teachers who meet you exactly where you are.

You don’t need to be “advanced” – just open, curious and ready to give a little more time to your practice. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
