Do you have IBD and struggle with weight management? We know that being overweight is bad for IBD and we want to increase the amount of support IBD patients are offered. Last week we sent out questionnaires on My Care to capture patients past experience and interest in weight loss interventions. We hope to use the responses to get more dietary help and also to back up a new national study looking at use of anti-obesity drugs for IBD.
If you have received the questionnaire please help us by completing this. If you have not received it it is not too late to get involved, just get in touch with us.
The easiest way to get a copy of the questionnaire is by signing up for My Care but there are also other options.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE IBD ADVICE LINE.
We are changing how we work to make contact with the IBD team easier and safer. This will help us prioritise our workload so that those who need advice get it sooner. As part of these changes, the IBDhelpline email service has closed.

If you need advice about your IBD please call the IBD advice line 01392 402728 and leave a message. please leave the following information:
Your full name and date of birth
Your hospital number and/or NHS number
A telephone number so we can call you back during our opening hours.

IBD ADVICELINE OPENING HOURS (unless otherwise stated on answer machine message)

Monday-Thursday 09:00 - 17:00

Friday 09.00 - 14.00

It is closed on bank holidays and at weekends.

Please remember that the advice line is NOT an emergency service. We aim to return your call by the end of the next working day, but this may be longer during busy periods. If you are unwell and cannot wait for a call back, please contact the appropriate service, such as your GP, NHS 111 or, if you are very unwell, the emergency department.

For routine enquiries you can send us a secure message via My Care. If you have not yet signed up to the patient portal please do take a look at this. Further details can be found at -
www.royaldevon.nhs.uk/patients-visitors/my-care.

Results
Routine tests such as blood and stool sample results will be automatically released on the patient portal 14 days after becoming available. Please do not contact us for routine test results if you are well. Please be patient and wait for the results to be released.

Whilst we hope you do not need to contact us if you do these changes should help streamline the process. Please remember the are some amazing resources on the CCUK website https://crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/ for general questions and everyone is welcome to join the patient group meetings on the last Thursday of the month.

The IBD patient survey is now open. Please take a few minutes to complete the anonymous survey, it is the first time the survey has been carried out since the pandemic. It will help to improve care and allows us to assess current services.

The IBD patient survey for Crohn's or Colitis will help ensure that the NHS better meets the needs of people living with Crohn's and Colitis.
