6 Years

Today proudly marks 6 years of running my own business, it’s at this point I really feel the benifts of working for myself, Working my hours, my client load, my choices day in day out.

What’s kept me going throughout is invaluable support from friends and peers who have become friends and a lot of self care. I couldn’t do what I do without both.

6 years down and a lot more to go with the hope of new opportunities on the horizon.

Today marks 5 years having my own business!

The number 5 means many things in different cultures, freedom, change, good luck, high energy….. but for me I always remember reading in so many places how most new businesses don’t make it past 5 years. To get to half a decade and only really be starting to change and push my business scope I couldn’t imagine it ending now or anytime in the near future. I am so truly proud of myself for keeping at it, rolling with the hard times and creating a space that people want to come into.

My business is named after my late grandfather who was the kindness and most magical person I’ve had in my life, he was wise and he listened a lot to everyone, especially me. Part of him is within my business, he enabled me to see what empathy and understanding looked like it its truest form.

As I reflect over the last 5 years the thousands of hours of therapy I have provided, courses undertaken, accreditation, affiliation, practice moves, lessons learned, celebrations had I feel truly fulfilled by my work, my business, my colleagues and peers. My work isn’t just a job it’s part of who I am so to be accepted by so many is not only heart warming but brings the biggest smile to my inner child who didn’t often have the same experience.

Thank you to all my clients and friends past and present for being part of this process, without you trusting me and choosing to work with me none of this would be a possibility! So here’s to many many more….xx

I am hugely proud and excited to announce that I will be running my first ever Together We Thrive group in September. After many years of wanting to offer this invaluable space I took the leap and did it… group work is one of the most powerful spaces you will ever enter into there is nothing like holding space with people you can relate to.

Creating a space for women to come together and connect is something I am deeply passionate about and this group in particular had been a dream of mine for a long time. 
 
Following an unhealthy and abusive relationship 15 years ago and a lifetime of living in a toxic family, I embarked on my own healing journey, one which allowed me to understand the complexities that come with abuse, neglect, coercion and narcissism.  It was here that my therapy career was ignited. Since training to be a therapist I have been lucky enough to reap the benefits of connecting with others through our vulnerabilities, this has undoubtedly played a crucial part in coming to terms with my past and shaping the woman that I have become today.
