Massage and me

Massage has been used therapeutically for thousands of years across the world, and its many benefits in enhancing health and wellbeing are widely acknowledged. Massage not only has the potential to promote relaxation and reduce stress, but by treating the body and mind as a whole can support health and wellbeing through stimulating other body systems.

The benefits of massage include: - Reduced pain and fatigue - Reduced muscle tension - Stress relief - Reduced anxiety - Improved circulation - Enhanced lymphatic drainage I trained with as a massage therapist, initially completing the APNT accredited Complete Body Worker Diploma, which encompassed Anatomy and Physiology and Swedish Massage at the Exeter School of Bodywork. Further training included deep tissue massage, during which I developed skills necessary to treat a range of injuries and musculoskeletal problems.

I tailor treatments based upon your individual needs and am fully insured and a member of the Association of Physical and Natural therapists.. At the time of my training, I was pregnant and as such I am interested in promoting maternal health and wellbeing throughout pregnancy and beyond.

The modern world in which we live can be relentless and massage therapy can provide the opportunity to relax and revive; I believe an hour on a massage table can brush away week’s worth of stress and tension. My background working as an occupational therapist helps me to understand and enhance health and wellbeing through massage and I always provide aftercare advise to help enhance the benefits of massage between treatments. I am currently working in a chiropractic clinic as a massage therapist and also run monthly massage days near Haldon Forest, just outside Exeter.
