Women’s Circle starting Wednesday 22nd October at Sowton Village Hall.
What to expect:
On arrival grab a tea or coffee.
We will open the circle by introducing ourselves - share as little or as much as you feel comfortable doing.
During the evening I will lead you into a meditation.
There will be oracle cards and a connection to a crystal which you take home.
There will time to have an open sharing conversation.
Please note that this circle is a space of trust and as such what is shared and discussed in the room stays in the room.

The wheel of the year keeps turning.
Not autumn yet, not quite, but there are small changes if you’re paying attention. This morning, I saw my breath in the woods. The air felt different. Beneath the green, lords and ladies have turned red, their berries bright against the undergrowth. A leaf here, a shift in birdsong there.

If you take the time to really look, you can see the landscape ticking away like a clock, quiet, steady, ancient.
Look closely, the land is always speaking.

This wonderful stone stack was on Budleigh Salterton beach. No, I can’t take the credit for it but someone certainly has a lot of patience!
It reminds me that life is all about balance and sometimes we need to stop and reassess how we are leading our lives.

Wise words. I love communing with the trees. Nothing like hugging the tree of your choice.

Communing with trees. The Old Ways Remembered🌳

In the hush of woodland or the edge of a hedgerow, there stands an ancient truth: trees listen. Long before stone and script, our folk knew this, knew the hush beneath boughs was sacred, and that healing could be sought not only from herbs, but from bark, leaf, and root.

To lay a hand upon a tree is not just whimsy, it’s a quiet act of connection. A reaching out. Our ancestors believed trees could carry burdens, witness sorrow, and lend strength when bones felt hollow. Oak for courage. Yew for memory. Birch for new beginnings.

A Simple Tree Ritual (for comfort, healing, or guidance):

Find the right tree. Let your feet lead. One may call to you without words.

Stand in stillness. Let the chatter of the mind settle. Breathe slow.

Touch the tree. Palm flat or fingers curled, whatever feels natural. You may rest your brow against the bark.

Speak your need. Whisper it, or think it, as though speaking to an elder who knows you well.

Leave a token, or a blessing. A strand of hair, a breath, a quiet word. Not litter, just presence.

Not every tree gives answers. Some just hold you in their silence. But that can be enough.

The woods are older than kings, older than names. And they remember. 🌿🌕

Fabulous day Friday at Clovelly Village. I haven’t visited here since a child and it was well worth a visit.
The waterfall just up from the harbour was beautiful. The energy was one of connecting to the Fae, Water sprits and the element of Water.
I also connected with an older lady from an era past. She gave me a glimpse of how the women gave offerings here to protect their men at sea.
Fascinating place and highly recommended.
