What do you get when you mix sharks, jellyfish, a handmade Titanic model, a couple of cool cats, some groovy dancing and a little angelic singing?

A blimmin’ Fabulous Friday at Creative Serenity, of course.

Our Friday session was absolutely packed with fun from start to finish. Brian finally completed his incredible handmade Titanic model, Emily introduced us all to her floral friend Dandy, Amy proudly shared videos of her beautiful tiny nephew, and we all got gloriously messy as we painted our sharks in every shade of blue imaginable.

There was music, laughter, creativity and plenty of happy chaos along the way.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there… our brand new Wednesday afternoon sessions are launching soon and there are only 5 places left.

We’re also on the lookout for some amazing volunteers to join our wonderfully happy group. Did we mention we supply biscuits?

It’s the middle of the week, which can only mean one thing… Wonderful Wednesday is back.

This week, we’ve plunged headfirst into an underwater adventure, declaring a very official fishy theme for our projects. The results? A glorious mix of creativity featuring some rather elegant jellyfish… and, somewhat unexpectedly, cats.

Yes, cats. Swimming. We’re fully aware that this might not be their natural habitat, but we’re embracing a little artistic licence here. Besides, cats make everything cooler, even the ocean.

Behind the scenes, the excitement is building as we count down the weeks until our brand new all-day Wednesday sessions begin. We still have a few spaces available for our Wednesday afternoon group, running from 1pm to 4pm. Expect a brilliant mix of activities, including dance, music, storytelling, and plenty more to keep everyone inspired and entertained.

We’re also on the lookout for some more fantastic volunteers to join the team. If you’ve got a bit of spare time and fancy being part of something special, get in touch with Sam for more information. As an added bonus, Sam is known for supplying an impressive quantity of biscuits… with Jammy Dodgers recently making a very popular debut.

And just in case you’re wondering… the cats are still refusing to get in the water. Turns out even artistic licence has its limits.

What a week it’s been… and we wrapped it up in true style with a fabulously creative Friday.

First things first: the bongos are back. Yes, Sam worked some serious magic with a handful of cable ties and a bit of determination. Safe to say there was a lot of excitement when they made their grand return… especially from Jane.

Style didn’t go unnoticed either, with Amy and Sam both turning up in dungarees and looking absolutely fabulous. Clearly, great minds think alike.

This week has been bursting with creativity. We’ve had owls taking shape, windsocks catching the imagination, yarn cats coming to life, and plenty more besides. A special highlight goes to Brian, who set his sights on building his very own Titanic. The result? A brilliant model that had everyone seriously impressed.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper week without music, movement, and a lot of laughter. There’s been dancing, singing, playing, and signing along together. If you’d like a glimpse of the fun, head over to our page to watch everyone joining in as Sam signs “Reach”.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to launch our new Wednesday afternoon sessions starting on 27th May. Spaces are limited and we currently have five places available. We’re also on the lookout for volunteers, so if you’d like to be part of this joyful and welcoming community, get in touch with Sam for more information.

This morning’s Wacky Wednesday session was an absolute delight. From crafting our own charming flock of owls to getting hilariously tangled in pom-pom making, the room was filled with laughter, creativity and a few wonderfully messy moments along the way. A special highlight was Amy proudly sharing photos of her new nephew, Eddie, which brought plenty of smiles all around.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there. Wednesdays are about to get even better. We are thrilled to be launching our brand new Wednesday afternoon service, running from 1pm to 4pm. Alongside our much-loved arts and crafts, sessions will now include dancing, percussion, singing and signing along to music, all rounded off with a relaxing story time.

Of course, none of this would be possible without Sam’s fantastic team of glamorous assistants… Karen, Ellie, Holly, Liz, Marion and Lucy … who keep everything running smoothly and make sure everyone leaves feeling inspired and uplifted.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking for more volunteers. You can never have enough caring people, and having extra support helps us ensure everyone gets the attention they need while encouraging meaningful social interaction. If you are kind, enthusiastic and would like to make a real difference, we would love to hear from you. We have biscuits…

Friday absolutely flew by at Creative Serenity.
We were delighted to welcome Viktoria from UniqueCorn back again. She led everyone through a series of exercises that felt more like fun than fitness. From mini dumbbells and pool noodles to beanbags and a lively “bash the balloon” finale, the room was full of energy and laughter. It was one of those sessions where everyone encouraged each other, joined in together, and forgot they were even exercising. Safe to say, we are all looking forward to her next visit.
Please see our page for more information and photos.
Kerry also stopped by to see us, bringing along a wonderful contribution from her alpacas. Their donated fleece will be used for felting, and it sparked lots of conversation, curiosity, and excitement as everyone gathered around to explore something new together.
The creativity didn’t slow down for a moment. Windsocks are well underway, colouring skills were put to the test with stencils, and more snails and butterflies came to life. Meanwhile, Mike, Brian, and John teamed up to trial a new sea-themed project, crafting some brilliant hammerhead sharks. It was fantastic to see everyone sharing ideas, helping each other, and taking pride in what they created side by side.
Days like this are what Creative Serenity is all about… bringing people together, building friendships, and creating a space where everyone feels included, supported, and inspired.
We’re also excited to share that we’ll soon be opening five spaces for our new Wednesday afternoon sessions, running from 1–4pm. These sessions will include our much-loved crafts alongside dance, exercise, music, and opportunities to play, sing, and sign along together plus story time to finish off the day.
If you’d like to find out more or book a free taster session, please get in touch with Sam. We are proud to be contracted by DCC, and nothing makes us happier than seeing the genuine enjoyment, connection, and friendships that grow within our sessions.

Wednesday brought a burst of creativity as we got stuck into making colourful windsocks, ready to dance in the breeze. The plan was to stretch this project over a couple of weeks… but Brian, Ian and Michael had other ideas and powered through at record speed, sending us straight back to the drawing board for Plan B…

There was no slowing down the creativity though. Our ever popular paper plate crafts made a return, this time transforming into a delightful parade of snails.

We were so happy to welcome back our brilliant volunteers, Lucy and Marion, after the Easter break. They were truly missed, and it felt like everything clicked back into place the moment they returned.

We also had some lovely personal news to celebrate. Amy is about to become Auntie Amy, with her new nephew expected any moment. She marked the occasion by making a beautiful welcome card, and we are all looking forward to seeing the first photos.

As always, the day wrapped up with our lively dance and music session, with Lee once again taking centre stage and bringing plenty of energy to the room.

We are also excited to announce that our new Wednesday afternoon session will be launching soon. There are just five places remaining, so if you are interested, please get in touch with Sam to find out more and book a free taster session.
