Fantasticle Fabulousa Friday absolutely flew by in a flash… ahhh haaaa!

First things first, a huge thank you to Emily for sharing her brilliant Comic Con story about meeting the one and only Brian Blessed. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we were even treated to a voice note from him. Still recovering from the excitement.

Creativity was in full swing as we got well and truly stuck in making love birds and birds of paradise. John powered through and finished another pom-pom as well as his tissue-paper bowl. Nicky and Jayne completed their bowls too and created some truly beautiful birds, plus a few incredible creatures after a very enthusiastic raid of the sticker box.

As always, there was plenty of dancing, singing, signing and joyful music-making along the way.

The afternoon session was just as lovely. One of our wonderful ladies brought in a bag of pom-poms she had made, and Karen kindly turned them into a stunning wreath. It looks absolutely beautiful.

We currently have one all-day Friday place available and one Wednesday morning place available. Please don’t hesitate to contact Sam for more information.

Oh—and we’re in need of more wool, so if you have any spare and would like to donate, we’d be very grateful.

What a truly Wonderful Wednesday it’s been!

After much dedication (and a bit of artistic flair), Lee and Mike finally finished their bowls, Mike’s proudly painted in full camouflage, because of course it is Mikes favourite colour scheme. Clive was on a roll, not only completing his bowl but nearly conquering every jigsaw puzzle in sight this morning.

Meanwhile, Tracy and Ross got completely lost in the creative zone while tackling the dreaded tangly pom poms… somehow managing to create them without a single tangle in sight, which may be a small miracle.

We also kicked off a brand-new paper plate project, and the transformation is underway… those plates are well on their way to becoming birds next.

The afternoon brought music and laughter as Amy and the girls joined Mike and Clive on percussion, with Lee keeping everyone perfectly in time on the bongos. We even welcomed a new face to the group, and as always, it was a joy meeting and making new friends.

Creative Serenity isn’t just about creating fabulous art… it’s about creating friendships too.

Fantastic Friday truly lived up to its name. The room was buzzing as we created even more adorable love bugs and got stuck into making a Paddington Bear calendar and wow, the effort and creativity on display was something else. Honestly, aren’t they amazing? Everyone put in so much hard work and it really showed.

We also had our usual dance exercise and music session, which was a total hit. Huge pride moment here, everyone is learning all the signs to the songs and absolutely smashing it. A video will be coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Special shout-out time! Karen deserves a medal for understanding that Sam isn’t exactly known for being tidy and can be a little disorganised… just take a look at the shed. If you know Sam, you’ll know how very necessary this support is.

Ellie and Holly also deserve massive credit. Ellie has been running story time for the past few weeks while recovering from a mishap and needing to take things easy … true hero energy, still turning up every Friday without fail. And Holly has been an incredible support to our community; the guys really value everything she does.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Sam decided we all deserved a treat and whipped up homemade bacon and cheese turnovers. They went down an absolute storm and were the perfect (and very delicious) way to wrap up the week.

One last thing … we’re on the lookout for cardboard egg boxes. If you have any to donate, or if you’d like more information about our group, please get in touch with Sam.

What a way to end the week.

Once again, Wednesday delivered the goods… fun, friendship, and a whole lot of creativity.

Our bowls are so close to being finished now, and we’re counting down to decorating them very soon. We also launched a brand-new project today: Love Bugs. It was gloriously messy, ridiculously fun, and made a serious dent in our seemingly endless supply of googly eyes.

We welcomed some lovely new friends into the group and danced our socks off (figuratively… mostly). There was singing, signing, and plenty of playing along to some all-time favourite songs.

We’re also thrilled to be welcoming two new volunteers to the team and can’t wait to get stuck into some exciting upcoming projects together.

If you’d like to know more about our happy little group, drop Sam a message or give her a call … we’d love to hear from you.

Another fabulous Friday at Creative Serenity and wow, what a way to end the week.

Our bowls are almost complete and ready for their next glow-up, with colourful inks coming very soon. The room has also been buzzing with pom-poms and God’s eyes, plus a lot of laughter as we tried (and mostly failed) to avoid getting hopelessly tangled. One of our afternoon members has been on a serious pom-pom mission and the results are seriously impressive.

There was plenty of singing, signing and dancing too, with Stephen and Lee absolutely stealing the spotlight. In the afternoon, we created rainbows inspired by last week’s Paddington story, and Emily treated us to a brilliant drawing of Paddington in her own unique style.

Creativity, music, movement and lots of smiles … an amazing end to the week all round.

Today was a truly top-tier Welcome Wednesday, and honestly, we’re still smiling. We had the joy of welcoming some brilliant new volunteers into our happy little community, along with a few new members joining the fun. We love meeting new people and turning strangers into friends… it’s kind of our thing.

This morning we carried on with our paper plate decorations, and yes… we may have developed a tiny obsession with weaving God’s Eyes. Amy, in particular, is absolutely in her element and becoming seriously skilled. Have you seen the design she’s working on? We think you’ll agree, Amy’s talents are pretty amazing.

Meanwhile, Clive has been fully committed to two very important tasks: completing every jigsaw puzzle in sight and keeping well-fuelled with cups of tea. Balance is key.

Our fabulous volunteer Karen has been bravely tackling the storage boxes. Anyone who knows Sam will understand just how heroic this task really is… tidying and organising are definitely team efforts around here.

Friday may have been a little grey and chilly outside, but at Creative Serenity there’s always a sunny smile and the warmest of welcomes waiting inside.

Today was packed with creativity and laughter. We had a brilliant time making twirling spinners (huge credit to Karen for introducing us to this absolute winner of an activity). Not to be outdone, one of our amazing support staff sparked another burst of inspiration and suddenly our paper plates were transformed into colourful towers… although a few members of the gang confidently declared theirs to be very stylish hats.

Add in some animal sticker fun, our usual dancing, singing, signing and music, and a lovely story read by Ellie. Today’s tale was all about a rainbow, which will be inspiring next week’s scrapbook project.

Creative, joyful, a little bit chaotic in the best way, and always full of heart. If you’d like to be part of this wonderful community as a volunteer, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with Sam for more information.

Wednesday, also known as hump day (for those counting down from Monday to Friday), treated us very well this week.

We kicked things off by making spiral hangers, and let’s just say… this activity is here to stay. Over the next few weeks we’ll be developing it even more, because when something sparks this much joy and creativity, you lean into it. The imaginations were well and truly unleashed.

Then it was time to hit the dance floor with the one and only Lee. A fantastic session full of movement, laughter, and expert guidance around the hall. And before anyone asks… no twerking photos today. Lee was far too busy being a professional and leading the group, sorry to disappoint his fan club…

We wrapped up the morning with a sing, play, and sign-along to music, the perfect way to finish a feel-good session.

We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the day. And if you happen to have some spare time on a Wednesday or Friday and would like guaranteed smiles, great company, and a lot of fun, consider joining our amazing team of volunteers. Get in touch with Sam for more information.

Today was a big one for us… we officially launched our brand-new afternoon session, running straight on from the morning, and it could not have gone better.

There was plenty of creativity flying around as we made more God’s Eyes and began our new tissue paper bowls. Nicki even took on the ambitious task of capturing Sam’s personality in a drawing… and honestly, she absolutely nailed it right down to the ears on Sam’s hat.

The afternoon session was a huge success, with some of our morning group deciding to stay for the whole day, which meant new friendships forming and lots of happy chatter. We wrapped things up with two lovely stories: Paddington visiting London and a seasonal favourite about Charlie the crow experiencing snow for the very first time. We all agree snow is magical… but we’re also quite happy it hasn’t arrived just yet.

All three sessions are now full, but we are taking names for our waiting list. And if you’re interested in volunteering and think you’d be a great fit, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Sam for more information.

Wednesday was bursting with wonderfulness as we kicked off some brand-new projects.

We’ve shifted the spotlight slightly away from Pom Poms (don’t panic … they’re still very much in progress) and dived into creating God’s Eyes. If you’re familiar with the magic of being creative, you’ll know some activities gently encourage the brain to relax while releasing all those feel-good hormones. Weaving does exactly that. It exercises and strengthens the brain, boosts memory and cognitive skills, and keeps fingers nimble with plenty of hands-on dexterity.

We also launched a new tissue paper project and are busy making bowls that will soon be decorated with a range of vibrant inks. Gloves are a must for this one … ink is stubborn stuff and never washes off without a fight. Totally worth it though, because the results are fabulous.

We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers. If you’d love to get involved and think you’d be a great fit, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Sam for more information.
