Things I Say as a Physio… Easily 100 Times a Day 😅
If you’ve ever been in the clinic, some of these might sound very familiar…
🗣 “On a scale of 1–10, what number is your pain?”
Understanding your pain helps guide safe treatment and track progress — it’s not about being dramatic, it’s about being clear.
🗣 “Don’t forget to breathe.”
You’d be surprised how many people hold their breath when something feels tight or uncomfortable.
Breathing helps your muscles relax, reduces tension and makes treatment far more effective.
🗣 “Your disc can’t be ‘popped back in’.”
A common myth! Discs don’t slip in and out — pain often comes from irritation, inflammation or sensitised tissues, not something being ‘out of place’.
🗣 “Your hips are not out of alignment.”
Another big myth. Your hips don’t suddenly shift out and need putting back.
What you’re feeling is usually muscular tightness, weakness or altered movement patterns — all things physio can help settle.
These reminders pop up every single day because they help people feel reassured, informed and back in control of their bodies.
If something’s been bothering you — pain, stiffness or just feeling “not quite right” — you’re always welcome to get in touch. Let’s get you moving comfortably again 💕
