💙 Today, on what would have been Bobby’s 48th birthday, we want to pause, remember, and remind every man out there that you’re never on your own. 💙

‘you alright chief?’ was born because we lost a mate. Bobby’s passing opened our eyes to how many men struggle silently, how many carry the weight alone, and how easily life can become overwhelming behind a smile.

From that heartbreak, we made a promise:
❤️To look out for each other better.
💜To check in.
💚To talk.
🧡To listen.
🤎To make sure no man feels he has to face things alone.

That’s what ‘you alright chief?’ is all about.
🤝A community.
🤝A place to connect.
🤝A laugh, a chat, a brew, a pint, a quiz night, a football session — normal things that create real support. No pressure. No judgement. Just blokes being there for each other.

And tonight, as we speak at the Spark Oldham International Men's Day event in Oldham, we carry Bobby with us. His memory is why we started, and his memory keeps us pushing forward.

💙 2026 will be a huge year for ‘you alright chief?’

We’re rebuilding, refocusing, and coming back stronger with:
• More events
• More meetups
• More community connections
• More support for men locally
• A bigger push to tackle loneliness

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us, supported us, and believed in what we do.

🗣️Let’s keep checking in.
💪 Let’s keep breaking the stigma.
❓Let’s keep asking the question that can change a life:

👉 “you alright chief?”

💙 November is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month 💙
A reminder that every man’s mental health matters — not just this month, but every single day.

At ‘you alright chief?’ we see first-hand how many men carry the weight of the world on their shoulders in silence. Work pressures, family responsibilities, financial worries, loneliness — it builds up, and too often lads feel like they’ve just got to “get on with it.”

But here’s the truth 👇
🟦 Talking isn’t weakness.
🟦 Struggling isn’t failure.
🟦 Asking for help is a strength.
🟦 And you are never a burden.

Men are less likely to open up… but more likely to reach breaking point.
That’s why groups like ‘you alright chief?’ exist — to give blokes a space to talk, laugh, breathe, and feel part of something. No judgement. No pressure. No masks.

This month, we’re asking everyone to take one small step:
👉 Check in on a mate
👉 Send that message
👉 Ask twice
👉 Start the conversation

A simple: “You alright, chief?”
…can literally change someone’s day — and sometimes even their life.

If you’re the one struggling, please talk to someone. A friend, a family member, one of us — anyone.
You matter more than you know.

Let’s make November the month more men feel seen, supported, and connected.
Let’s look out for each other.
Let’s keep talking.

💙 We’re Proud to Be Speaking at International Men’s Day 💙

It’s been a little quiet on here recently — life has a habit of taking over sometimes — but ‘you alright chief?’ is very much still here, still committed, and still working to support men across our local communities.

I’m proud to share that we’ve been invited to speak at the International Men’s Day event hosted by Spark Oldham on Wednesday 19th November.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Boys & Men, and it’s an honour to represent our group and talk about the importance of connection, community, and looking out for one another.

Being part of this event means a lot — it reinforces why ‘you alright chief?’ exists in the first place:
👉 tackling loneliness
👉 breaking stigma
👉 creating spaces where men feel safe to talk, laugh, open up, and be themselves

🔵 What’s Coming Next?

Even though we’ve been a bit quieter online, we’ve been planning behind the scenes… and we’re gearing up for a big finish to 2025 and an even bigger year in 2026.

Keep your eyes peeled for:
🍺 Mare & Foal Quiz Night
🍛 Autumn Curry Night
⚽ F.C United of Manchester Match Meet-Up
🥅 5-a-side Kick-Abouts
🎉 More social events & get-togethers
… and in 2026, a refreshed and reinvigorated relaunch of the group to help us support even more men locally.

To everyone who’s been part of the journey so far — thank you.

To everyone we’ve yet to meet — we can’t wait to welcome you.

And as always, don’t forget to check in with your mates:
👉 “you alright, chief?”
It might just be the conversation they needed today.

💙 Kindness Isn’t Soft. 💙

Some people still see kindness as weakness — but they’ve got it wrong.
Kindness takes strength. It takes courage to care, to listen, and to show up when someone needs you.

At ‘you alright chief?, we see every day how a simple chat, a bit of time, or a few kind words can change everything. You never know what someone’s carrying — but your kindness might be the thing that helps them through it.

Let’s keep building a world where men don’t feel they have to hide behind a mask. Where checking in, listening, and being kind is seen for what it really is: real strength.

So today, take a moment to reach out. Ask your mate, your brother, your dad, your colleague —
👉 “you alright, chief?”

It could mean more than you know.

Kindness isn’t soft — it’s powerful.
Check in, reach out, and stand with those fighting their silent battles. 💙

💙 You Alright Chief? 💙

Sometimes, life can feel heavier than we let on. No matter how strong, confident, or successful someone might seem, everyone has battles they’re fighting behind the scenes.

Men often carry the weight quietly — feeling like we have to “man up,” deal with it ourselves, or keep it bottled in. But we need to change that. Talking isn’t weakness. Reaching out for help isn’t failure. It’s courage.

If you’re struggling, please don’t sit in silence. Talk to a mate. Open up. Ask for help. You matter — more than you might ever realise.

And if you haven’t heard from one of your mates in a while, drop them a message today. A simple “You alright, chief?” could make all the difference.
