Morning everyone.
Sitting here having a great coffee with Heidi our chocolate lab.
Another weeks interesting work with differing presentations.
A female late 40’s with 2.5 year possible sacro-iliac problems which on detailed movement assessment suggests a central spinal core problem. She also needs very specific muscle recruitment work for her trunk and pelvis, which I’m sure will help alleviate her problems.
Another pt with neck problems for 9 months which others have suggested was a shoulder problem. On assessment it was possible to differentiate between shoulder and neck. She seems to have a lower c/spine pain with right sided referral, and possibly some rotator cuff (supraspinatus) as well. Or just RC sensitivity due to the central spine situation. Treatment options will see which this is.
14 yr old female sporty youngster with mono-articular (one isolated joint) left knee problems with intermittent swelling leading to loss of functional movements. Not mechanical in nature so possibly referral for a rheumatological opinion. But she still needs to exercise around this problem!
Plus lower back pain, sensitised carpal tunnel, and a very mixed presentation including nerve root sensitisation / affects with neck, shoulder and spinal regions.!!!
My colleague Alex is seeing a range of presentations again from a ‘frozen shoulder’ post trauma, to thoracic and hip problems to acute ankle ligament injury.
