Recently completed challenging obturator case at Loanhead Dental Practice.
Thanks to combining digital and analog workflow, we were able to deliver this prosthesis in a safe and predictable way, merging scan, impression and selective impression with scan duplicate of current obturator.
CoCr frame implementing Scandinavian principles to help maintain periodontal health and maximise retention and stability.
Finally, hollow box technique to finish the prosthesis to decrease the weight of the b**g.
Life changing prosthesis for this amazing young patient (only 22! ) who undergone subtotal maxillectomy at the age of 12 ….

November is a time to raise awareness about early detection, prevention and education regarding oral cancers.

Regular oral cancer checks and self examinations are especially important for people who wear dentures. The use of dentures can mask or complicate detection of oral health tissues, including oral cancers.

I would encourage all of my lovely patients to have regular check ups with there regular dental care provider even if they have full dentures.

Massive thankyou to everyone who took there time to attend my lecture at Dentistry Scotland Show on Saturday 21st September at Glasgow SEC. I had a great time presenting some of my cases and catching up with colleagues.

I am really excited to be talking at this year DTS/Dentistry Show in Birmingham….

Team Work Makes a Dream Work - utilising CDTs in a modern dental team - I will show number of cases involving removable prosthodontics showing clinical and technical approach and also what to do if things don’t go as planned …

The lecture will take place on Saturday 18th at 10am in Dental Technician Hub but all members of dental team are welcome.
