✨Indian Cultural Appreciation Day✨

We recently celebrated India in our Culture Day at Thorntree, and it was a truly joyful occasion. The people who live with us and the staff came together to enjoy traditional music and dance, and delicious food made by our chef, David. It was such a wonderful opportunity to share culture, spark conversations and create amazing memories.

In the afternoon, we were joined by Shailly from Unity Bollywood who held a Bollywood dance workshop for everyone. Shailly is incredible at what she does and is so passionate that it shows in her work. Her kindness and patience didn't go unnoticed and it was such a great addition to our day.

Our amazing nurses Anjaly and Sumi brought in traditional sarees for staff to wear, along with makeup and accessories so we could all look the part. Sumi's daughter, Krisa, also joined in and definitely gave us all a run for our money! Sumi and Anjaly, our RGNs, are both from the state of Kerala in India. Anjaly has worked for the company for 5 years, and Sumi almost 5 years - both of them have also won employee of the month! It was such a great feeling to bring a little bit of home to them and to step into their culture for the day. Thank you so much to everyone involved who went the extra mile to make it such a special day!

Gfitness kindly reached out to us about holding a complimentary one-hour exercise session for the people who live with us. It was great to see everyone getting involved and it went so well that this will hopefully become a monthly class with Euan.

Mary was the star of the show, being 104 years old and still eager to join in! Barbara also had a great time getting moving to some music. Thanks to the lovely Kerry, our Regional Lifestyle Support Manager for getting stuck in and being an extra pair of hands!

To end April with a bang, we ventured out to Blairdrummond Safari Park. The weather was fantastic (20 degrees!) so the sunscreen and hats were out, which Joyce and Iris definitely pulled off. It was a wonderful day and it was so lovely to see the animals all out, soaking up the sun. Our chef David made us a picnic for lunch and we were joined by our fabulous carers Leanna and Mo. Overall, it was a brilliant day and we will definitely be back! ☀️🐯

John and Roy attended the game on Saturday and it's safe to say it was a fantastic day. John is a life long Bairns supporter and this is the first game he has attended since 2023.

We want to give a big thank you to Laura from the FFC for giving John a complimentary ticket after hearing his story and for making such a difference. And thank you to Aaron and Hafiz for taking John and Roy and for sitting in the cold!

The people who live with us in Willow Lounge had a busy day on Easter Sunday🐰🌼 From egg painting to egg races, egg hunts to wreath decorating, we did it all.

We'd like to thank Morrisons for kindly donating Easter eggs to the home, from the smiles, it's clear they went down a treat! And thank you to our amazing staff member Katie for stepping into the Lifestyle role for the day to make it extra special, and to all of the other staff members who brought some Easter joy!

Some of our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip out to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow this week. Stepping back in time to see Glasgow how the people who live with us remember it was an eye-opening experience for everyone.

From the cars and trains, to the old streets and shop fronts of Glasgow, it was like stepping into the past. Of course, we had to stop in at the cafe for some lunch, which went down an absolute treat! Our lovely Admin, Sabina, came along to help us and Carrie was kind enough to drive us there.

Thank you to everyone who helped and made it such an amazing day!
