Join me for some fun, 😎summer themed classes😎 with lots of songs and exciting props for your baby to engage with. The class will be followed by snacks and mocktails🍹, 2 arts and crafts activities 🧑‍🎨and a wee photo opportunity. The classes are for 1 or 2 children (twins are counted as 1 child, other multiples as 2) aged 👶4 months to 4 years🧒 plus 1 adult and cost £18 for the 2 hour class.

🤩One of my favorite parts🤩 of my job is being able to get new toys for all my babies to play with😁. Every week there is a 🦄theme🐥 and I like to have as many options as possible so that it feels new 🐷each week. So this week I got my first lamb🐑 toys and added to my 🐘elephant and lion🦁 collection! ROAR!!

🧑‍🍼Nurturing Flows: Infant Feeding🤱

Even before our babies arrive, we often think about how we are going to feed them. It can be a difficult decision with many advocating for both breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, and the subsequent pressure of it being an either/or decision. 😬However, that is not the case. The way we choose to feed our babies can be as unique as us, so it is important to get informed to make a decision that feels good and true to our own family structure.❤

Nurturing Flows: Infant Feeding looks at the way we feed our babies in the first few month and covers everything from how we feed our babies, to what issues we might discover along the way. We look at equipment that you might want to have, when to purchase them and the risks and benefits of their usage. We also dig in a little to the benefits of responsive feeding and how we can honor this whether we breastfeed or bottlefeed.

This Workshop is new, and whether it is delivered as a group or as a 1:1 workshop, I have yet to decide. But I am very excited to add it to my roster!🤩

A baby in hindsight: About Me

😊Hello, My name is Lesley and I am a mum of 2 crazy boys!😊

I first started my perinatal education journey back in 2020 but my journey truly started in 2017 after the birth of my first son. I started to volunteer with Walk Forth Bumps & Babies (trading under a different name back then!) and then volunteered with the Forth Valley Breastfeeding in 2019. During this time, I became fascinated with the amount of information out there about birthing, breastfeeding and all things baby!

In 2021 during the COVID pandemic, and whilst on maternity with my second child, I started my year long training with The Daisy Foundation to become a perinatal educator. During this time I learnt so much more information and couldn’t wait to start sharing it all with my community! I started teaching my very own Daisy classes in 2022.

Roll on April 2023 and the announcement was made to us teachers, that The Daisy Foundation would be ceasing trading as of the end of August😱. I decided at this point that creating my own business was right for me and was excited at the prospect of growing and creating a brand of my own.🤩

And so NURTURING FLOWS was born!

I am very excited to continue to grow my business as the years go on and start to grow our very own community of parents and families!

One thing that I am very keen to do is get as much information as I can, to individuals for free. This is why my blogs are so important to me to create.The other thing I am looking into is funding so I can offer free or reduced cost places within my classes to those in our communities that need it. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is how fragile our routines and expectations can actually be. It is heart wrenching to watch someone's life be turned upside down as circumstances change, and I don’t want that to stop people from being able to access my classes! So watch this space!

I am very excited to be on this journey and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

🤰Pregnancy Flows🤰 is our weekly antenatal class.

This class teaches you pregnancy yoga poses🥰 that will not only be able to help you deal with common pregnancy ailments, but also practice calming breathing techniques and birth positions too! We explore the labouring journey and each week, we focus on particular parts to help deepen our understanding of our bodies, our babies👶 and our capability to birth. In doing so, we help you to develop the confidence to trust yourself, your body and that you can birth with ease!

Each week there will also be a lovely 🧘‍♀️relaxation or meditative 🧘 practice that will give you time and space to chill out and bond with your baby as well as building feelings of positivity and calm to help you...

This class is only for the birthing individual to attend, as there is a heavy focus on creating muscle memory as we practice our movements. But don't worry, I also run workshops for the birthing partner to attend which I will reveal to you soon! 🤩

🤩Introducing my blog!🤩

🤰A Baby in Hindsight👶

This will be an exploration of all things pregnancy and baby. The posts will be a mixture of informative pieces, poems written by me🤗, my own stories and experiences, and also those of others I know within my parenting tribe. I will cover topics such as breastfeeding🤱, co-sleeping, miscarriages💜, perinatal mental health💙, society expectations and more.

‼️Posts will be released every Thursday‼️ and once my website is up and running in full, I will have a dedicated area for them so you can access all of the juicy information with ease!☺️

Next week I am going to start with a little piece about me: who I am, what drives me and how I see my business growing!

😍My next class I offer is Nurturing Blossoms. 😍

As baby becomes more curious about their surroundings and the other people in the room🧐, it highlights the need for a little more stimulus to be added to the class. Baby massage is replaced with baby yoga; a fun and song driven bonding time for you and baby😊. Each move helps baby's body to develop the flexibility and skills they will need as they start to become more independent.

There are some familiar songs from Nurturing Buds, and some new ones too🎶! We have lots more props in class to satisfy baby's curiosity👶 and a new theme that they will discover each week. "🦖What's in the box today🧚‍♂️" will start to become just as exciting for you as baby: or at least the song will be in your head every time you see a box!🫣

At the same time, we still don't want to over stimulate baby so the class is crafted to have moments of excitement followed by moments of quiet. The two most prominent quiet times being our book read and my "magic bells" where baby can practice listening whilst you relax!🧘‍♀️

The need for support, information and a safe space to vent your trials and tribulations of every day parenting remains. Therefore, there is still time spent in class to talk to one and other, to support one and other and to create meaningful bonds too. The classes are now a little larger giving baby plenty of space to interact with others, and I host WhatsApp chats for every class to allow you to chat and ask me questions between classes.

🥰My first class I am introducing is Nurturing Buds. 🥰

This class is designed to be attended by baby and one of their primary caregivers. It is a quiet, low stimulus space for you to bond with your baby, which is perfect for the developmental needs of baby in these first few months.

4th trimester babies don't need lots of flashing lights, loud music and lots of other gimmicks; they simply need you. So the class focuses in on creating bonds through touch such as baby massage, gentle songs that help baby grow early skills such as visual tracking, and time and space for you.

I know that at this stage what you need is support, information and sometimes just a safe space to vent your trials and tribulations of every day parenting. Some time is spent in every class to talk to one and other, to support one and other and to create meaningful and lasting bonds with the others attending the class. The classes are also kept small to help you build these bonds, and I host WhatsApp chats for every class to allow these bonds to continue to grow outside the class too.
