🚨 ⚠️ SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ ⚠️ 🚨

We’ve been asked by Counter Fraud Services to share an intelligence alert about a telephone scam targeting GP patients. 📞

Some patients have received calls from 07759 705398 (showing as Spain 🇪🇸) claiming to be from their GP practice. The caller says they’re “updating patient records” and asks for personal details or sends a link.

👉 Please remember:
❌ Do not give out any personal or medical details over the phone unless you’re sure who you’re speaking to.
❌ Never click on links from unknown callers.
✅ If in doubt, hang up and contact your GP practice directly.

The surgery will be closed for holiday on Monday 13th of October.

If you require medical attention during this time please contact NHS 24 on 111 or contact your local pharmacy who can help with a number of minor ailments. The surgery will reopen as normal on Tuesday 14th October at 8am.

Due to this there will be no routine appointments released on Monday the 6th for the following Monday.

We’re here to help you understand the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, so you can feel more confident in recognising any new or unusual changes in your breasts.

Last month 150 appointments went unused because patients didn’t attend or cancel. Some of these appointments were made the same day for an urgent triage appointment.

Whilst this number is down from last month this is still a significant amount of wasted appointments.

During September, there wasn’t a single day without missed appointments — with the highest being 10 in one day. Missed appointments can delay your care and affect others who are in need of an appointment.

Please remember:

✔️ If you can’t make your appointment, cancel as soon as possible
✔️ You can cancel by calling us on 01324 619930
✔️ Or simply reply to your reminder text

This simple step helps us to:

🔹 Offer appointments to those in need
🔹 Reduce waiting times
🔹 Make the best use of doctors and nurses time
