💪 IS STRENGTH ENOUGH? 💪
“You can’t go wrong with getting strong”
It’s not 100% wrong…
Personally, it doesn’t acknowledge the full picture🤷🏻♀️
If you’re a cup, and your cup is your ability to tolerate whatever you ask of it (your capacity)…
The water filling your cup is the volume of your activity…
And the tap producing the water is the demands of your activity😅
Building strength only increases the size of your cup, meaning you can tolerate more (you get stronger)…simple right?
Things like control and managing intensity are absolutely massive in making sure your cup doesn’t overflow…and leading to you getting injured🤦🏼♂️
If you’re strong, but have poor mechanics, and you’re training like a mad man (or woman!)…your cup is bound to overflow at some point right?
Strength might delay the inevitable, as it’ll just take longer to overflow…but it’s still going to happen!🫣
Building control and managing intensity are key for controlling the flow of the water into your cup whilst you build a bigger cup👌🏼
So maybe time to rethink the “can’t go wrong with getting strong” a little bit…
