Today we say goodbye to our wonderful Nurse Practitioner, Sarah.
After fifteen years working with us and a forty year career as a nurse, she is going to be greatly missed. I’m sure our patients will join us in wishing her a happy retirement.

We understand that recent news reports about the meningitis outbreak in Kent may be concerning for parents and staff working with children and young people. Advice from UKHSA is that there is no baseline increased risk outside of the specific outbreak in Kent at this time and currently there is no need for any additional actions.
This is an opportunity to remind parents of the importance of keeping routine vaccinations up to date.

See below for catch up clinics for children in years 7-11.

We cannot offer vaccines out of schedule at this time, and we cannot obtain this vaccine privately at present.

We are running catch-up clinics across Cornwall (by appointment only) for children in Years 7–11 who may have missed their routine vaccinations, including:

• HPV vaccine – from Year 8 (for both boys and girls)
• Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio (Td/IPV) – final booster from Year 9
• Meningitis ACWY – from Year 9

If you’re not sure whether your child has missed a vaccination, please get in touch. Our team can check their record and book you into a clinic if needed.

To check your child’s vaccination status or book an appointment, contact:

💨🌬STORM GORETTI UPDATE🌬💨

Many of our staff have been affected by the weather and come from varying places in Cornwall. Staff are trying to safely navigating getting to work, but we will be running on a skeleton team for now. We will contact you if we need to cancel your appointment but if you want to cancel your appointment, you can do so by using the appointment link, emailing prescriptions.fhc@nhs.net (which will only be available for this today), or phoning from 8am.

Please only call us if it is urgent, or you need to cancel an appointment. If your query can wait until Monday, then please call us then.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this very rare time of adverse weather conditions.

We hope you all manage to stay safe out there!

WorkWell is a service designed to support anyone with a health condition or disability to either:
Return/Remain in work
Find and Access work
Refer or signpost into various services available in your local area.
This service provides a team of trained Work and Health Coaches who will provide short term, light touch support to help individuals with their support needs to return, remain or succeed in work.

WorkWell will help individuals to build a personalised support plan based off their current needs, health conditions/disabilities and additional support that may be needed and then work together with organisations across Cornwall to provide joined up support for that individual.

Our GPs refer patients to the service if they issue a sick note. There is no stigma attached to this and it does not mean we think there is an issue with work, but it is to help tackle some of the anxieties that come with extended (or even short term) absence and support those on a phased return/reduced hours etc.
