The Masculinity Therapist

The Masculinity Therapist Zac Fine is a counsellor who specialises in men's issues

I'm a psychotherapist and I've been through this emotional underworld of family separation and conflict over child access. Processing my emotions was at least as important as the practical decisions for me and the men I now work with. That doesn't necessarily mean you can get rid of the pain or "fix" the situation immediately, but you can stop making it worse today. This page, and my group, can support you to take control of your life again so you can feel alive, and be the best father you can be, even if your current circumstances seem overwhelmingly depressing and bleak.

Do you need support to come to terms with loss via death and alienation from children, stress from family conflict and limiting beliefs?

Here's a what a client wrote about working with me.

"My daughter died suddenly. She had been living abroad and brought her children back as she knew she was unwell. Separated from her husband, she wanted the children to live with us in England and see him during holidays.

"Her husband however wanted them to live with him abroad. Having no rights as grandparents we were unable to stop him and so we supported the children by paying for their education and we visited them regularly. Then their father took the children out of school and emigrated with them to a more distant country.

"The trauma and stress this caused was immense and affected not only our relationship with the children’s father but also other relationships within our family. After speaking to friends and trying a couple of alternative counsellors, I was put in touch with Zac who agreed to try to help me to rebalance my life and move forward.

"With calm intuition, kindness and empathy, Zac has helped me to stand back a little from the situation and unpick many of the problems. Inevitably we have also looked at other areas of trauma in my life and he has helped me to understand how they have affected me and to relieve me of my unwarranted feelings of failure in various situations and to realise that I cannot solve and perfect situations that are not within my control.

"Letting go of frustration and anger has not been easy but arriving in calmer waters has been a relief. There are still issues for me to solve and moving forward will sometimes not be easy but Zac has helped me to get out of the “stuck” situation in which I felt I was stranded and begin to look towards the future.

"I am grateful for his help and would happily recommend him."

Is it time to move up in your life?

"From the start, Zac was a pleasure to deal with, a great listener, and easy to understand his works during sessions.

"Since working with Zac I have re-birthed new life into myself, overcame some huge hurdles, and now have a much clearer vision of myself and all aspects that come along in the day to day life.

"I would 100% recommend him to anyone who is seeking guidance. Thank you." — client testimonial

Pablo is a young man seeking guidance.

He lost his father early in life and wonders whether traditional masculinity is good, how he should look after himself, and how he should behave in relationships.

We had 5 recorded conversations:

1. Masculinity crisis or war on masculinity?
2. Self care means self respect
3. Navigating relationships
4. Protect our boys
5. A man's code

This summer I embarked on a series of recorded conversations with Pablo, a young man who wanted guidance as he launched into adulthood.
