Buccal Massage
My Buccal Massage is a nurturing 75-minute treatment designed to offer a deep, soft release of tension held in the muscles of the face, jaw, and neck. It’s a transformative experience that begins by soothing the surface layers before easing into deeper work, including the unique and therapeutic intraoral massage—where tension is melted away from the inside of the cheeks.

The treatment gets its name from the buccinator muscles, nestled in the cheeks, which play an important role in facial expression, chewing, speech, and even preventing cheek biting. When these muscles hold tension, it can subtly alter our expressions, cause discomfort, and contribute to jaw pain or headaches.

Buccal Massage is available as an add-on to my “Shoulders Up Release and Glow” session, making it a complete upper-body unwind—from shoulders and neck to every small muscle of the face.

This treatment is perfect for anyone wanting to soften and release deep facial tension, support lymphatic flow, or experience a naturally lifted, sculpted look. Whether you’re drawn to the aesthetic benefits or seeking relief from TMJ discomfort, clenching, or chronic facial tightness, a Buccal with me offers a balance of therapeutic depth and soft care.

It’s mid summer and perhaps a good time to reintroduce myself and my offerings.
I am Erin, a lymphatic massage practitioner offering treatments from the quiet and comfort of my home in Brill, Cornwall. I specialise in manual lymphatic drainage massage after following my curiosity in holistic treatments to aid in hormonal balance. In the five years I’ve been offering MLD massage I have seen the incredible response bodies have had to the gentle touch and considered sequence of the technique, helping people with: post operative swelling, endometriosis, IVF recovery, fluid retention, nervous system disregulation, detox after medical treatments, supporting weight loss journeys, sport recovery, chronic fatigue, post-natal recovery, and much more.
Full body lymphatic massage offerings:
-Initial 100 appointment: 100minutes includes plenty of time to have a full consultation to get to know your journey and needs, as well as check consent with you for the parts of your body you want involved in the massage.
-90minute follow up: 90minutes of full body lymphatic massage
-60minute follow up: 60minutes of full body lymphatic massage

I am also in my second year of offering deeper tissue release in the jaw, face and neck with my facial massage options. These treatments are wonderful for profelactic and pro-aging care of the face and neck, and can release tension and emotion held in the jaw. Jaw-clenchers see me for relief. Rose-water steam and cleanse and use of inlight beauty and tropic skin products elevate my massages to a luxurious facial.
-Shoulders up release and glow: 1hour facial deep tissue and lymphatic massage with steam and deep cleanse with inlight beauty products and tropic serums
-add on Buccal massage: additional intra-oral massage, working the tissues of the cheeks and jaw from inside and outside the mouth enables deeper release of tension

Want to experience both full body and facial massage?
I offer a Holistic Ritual: a 2.5 hour appt: 1hour full body, 1hour shoulders up release and glow, plus 30 minutes tailored to you to slowly guide you back from deep relaxation

All options can be booked via my website and booking system erindalemovement.com/bookonline

Recently folks have been apologising for and warning me about scars and other body differences. Many people have parts of their body that are scarred from surgery, trauma, or self harm; parts of the body missing, removed or “underdeveloped”, or perhaps your body as it is really doesn’t fit with your internal identity of self. Please know, that whatever your relationship with yours, I accept your body in its wholeness.

I, myself, underwent my 3rd surgery for endometriosis last week- the fifth surgery to leave me with visible scars in my lifetime (I now have an exclamation mark in the middle of my tummy❗️). And I was raised by a wonderful skin cancer survivor who taught me that scars are a sign of survival and strength. You don’t have to wear your scars with pride, many people have complex relationships with theirs. But, just know, that there is no judgement from me.

As a massage therapist I am used to seeing people undressed, but perhaps having your body seen makes you anxious. During our first appointment I will go through with you what level of modesty needs to be maintained for you to feel safe, and where I am allowed to touch you.

If having a full body massage feels like a big step for you, maybe start with a shoulders up massage. 💆🏽 I’ve had many clients get to know me through facial treatments and then move onto full body once we have that trust.

It’s June, which is internationally recognised as Pride Month in remembrance (and continued revolution) of the Stonewall riots of June 28th 1969.

Even out here in rural Cornwall there is a wave of pride events sweeping through the major towns of the county from May to August to celebrate (and call to action) human rights for all, and that means LGBTQIA+ folks. The alphabet army have long been revolutionaries and warriors for peace and equality. The diversity of folks for which Pride celebrates is testament to the individuals ability to fight for the rights of others, not just themselves.

As someone who identifies as Q***r myself, I celebrate what makes each person unique, and I bring this into my work to hopefully create an inclusive atmosphere for practice and healing. I have de-centralised binary language from my yoga teachings, and I welcome people of all genders. Everyone deserves to be proud of who they are and the struggles they have overcome- or are currently battling.

Pride marches around the world have also raised their voices for other oppressed groups. Q***r culture has long been able to blend the truly fabulous with the truly harrowing- not shying away from the AIDS crisis, the erasure of Trans people, the support of rights for people with disabilities, and calling out genocide 🇵🇸 Not everyone will be able to celebrate pride this month.

Yoga means union. It is not just stretching, it is not just closing your eyes to be peaceful for yourself. You are living yoga when you speak up for those who are not able to. You are living yoga when you show up to a march for human rights or support a friend at your local pride event or q***r night. You are living yoga when you are a safe space for your loved ones to share their dreams and desires without feeling judged. When you cultivate a safe relationship with yourself and an honest relationship with your body, you are allowing other people to do the same and share their truth- leading to a healthier, happier, more equitable community.

If you would like to attend an Inclusive Yoga class please come along to Mawnan Smith on Monday nights. Please DM me to express your interest in Q***r yoga classes.

Motivation can feel like a big hurdle when it comes to moving our bodies more-especially when life’s already full. Maybe you’ve been unwell, feeling tired, juggling a busy schedule, or just going through a lot. When you’re already stretched thin, finding the energy or will to exercise can feel like too much. And on top of that, those little voices in our heads often chime in with unhelpful comparisons: “I’m not as fast/strong/good as I used to be.”

Sometimes, shifting the way we think about movement can help. Instead of focusing on numbers or performance, what if the goal was simply to enjoy the experience? Like stepping outside just to listen to the birds or crickets. Climbing a hill to see the view from the top. Watching the sunset. Heading into the woods to forage for wild garlic. Dancing around the kitchen to a favourite song.

Lately, my motivation to get back into running has been something a bit playful—I run just one mile each morning, without worrying about speed or distance. Each day, I post a line from one of my favourite songs on Strava. It’s a little thing, but it gives me something to look forward to. My partner even asks, “What line are you posting today?” The run wakes me up and warms me up for some strength and mobility exercises when I get home. If when my period comes, I need to walk instead, that’s okay. If I miss a day, there’s no streak to worry about. I just pick up where I left off with the next line of the song.

Not being motivated by the numbers or timings is great when you’re returning from a slow recovery like I am. I’ve lost a lot of aerobic fitness and strength over the past 2 years, so just getting out there is getting me stronger.

How about you? What’s been helping you find your way back into a movement practice-or stay with it?

Swollen ankles can be uncomfortable, even a little alarming, but they’re often your body’s gentle way of saying it needs a little extra support—especially from the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is like a second circulatory system, quietly working to move lymph (a clear fluid rich in white blood cells) through your body to help remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid. When this system slows down or becomes overwhelmed, fluid can accumulate, particularly in the lower extremities like the ankles. That’s where lymphatic massage comes in.

Lymphatic massage is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph through your lymph vessels and nodes. For swollen ankles, this massage helps “encourage” the built-up fluid to move along, reducing swelling and promoting a sense of lightness and relief. It’s not only soothing but also supports the body’s natural detox process, helping you feel more balanced and comfortable.

Swollen ankles, medically known as peripheral edema, can occur for a variety of reasons, some more common than others. These include:
• Standing or sitting for long periods: Gravity pulls fluid down to your feet and ankles, especially if circulation is sluggish.
• Injury or surgery: The body naturally sends more fluid and immune cells to injured tissues, which can cause swelling.
• Pregnancy: Hormonal changes and increased pressure on veins can lead to fluid retention.
• Heart, kidney, or liver conditions: These can affect how your body manages fluid, sometimes causing noticeable swelling.
• Lymphedema: A condition where lymph nodes or vessels are damaged or removed (often after cancer treatments), impairing lymph flow.
• Chronic venous insufficiency: When veins have trouble sending blood back up to the heart, leading to pooling and swelling in the legs.

If you’re noticing persistent or painful swelling, it’s always wise to check in with a healthcare provider. But for everyday puffiness or mild swelling, lymphatic massage can be a gentle, nurturing way to support your body’s healing and circulation.

Armpit massage?! In lymphatic massage, sequencing is important. And massaging specific areas where lymph nodes are located is important too. Before massaging each arm, I cradle it in mine and encourage the shoulder to relax. With palm or knuckles, I gently roll soft pressure towards the collar bones. Then work down the arm in upward strokes.

Ticklish? It’s not as ticklish as you might think, but if you do find it too much I guide Breathwork to help you stay relaxed. You’re in control. All elements of my massages are opt-in. I will check in with you before treatment to make sure I know where you are happy to be touched.

Something a little different: Spot a few of my artworks in tomorrow in their exhibition for Falmouth Pride 🏳️‍🌈

Pride began as remembrance demonstrations for the Stonewall riots of 1969 in which LGBTQ+ people fought for equal rights. As well as a celebration for pride in our identities, these festivals continue to be a time to raise the voices of marginalised folks. Despite the initial shock of the recent news from the UK Supreme Court, we are beginning to see the emergence of opportunities its contentiousness brings for conversation and progress TOWARDS safety and equity. And, my heart goes out to all trans folk and anyone affected by the media frenzy and destructive rhetoric that has been the fall out of recent headlines.

The work I have up in the bank is from a time I was exploring philosophy and perspectives, struggling with the constant battle between binary thought and nuanced reality. Humans love to put things and people in boxes. Even to fight for our rights we have to come up with a neat identity profile with labels (and preferably corresponding appearnace!) so that society knows who we are speaking for. As a q***r, neurospicy person, I feel constantly on the seasaw between thinking labels are ludicrous and thinking they are vital to defining ourselves and communicating our experiences with others.

I don’t care what toilet you use, and I personally think urinals can go and all loos be for everyone 🤷🏽 AND perhaps-where resources allow- additional glam room for anyone who wants to skip the stink and just fix their lippy /take selfies in the mirror💁🏽

Have a fun Pride weekend and please, if you’ve read this far (thank you🙏🏽) do whatever you can to support all the artists, performers and attendees to have a safe and empowering celebration 🥰

As I’ve been saying for a long time…my prices are finally going up after 2 years! In this time I have moved into and renovated the private treatment room. Upgraded my treatment list and introduced and products to elevate your experience.

My prices are changing on 14th April, the reason I say “changing” is because I’m introducing a membership option that brings the price back down for regular treatments: the more frequently you come, the more money you get off of each treatment.

There is going to be a monthly option, a twice monthly option, and a weekly option for memberships. You will be able to manage memberships through the system, pause and cancel when you want. Memberships can give you money off for a select course of treatment-for example to recover from illness or surgery (without having to bulk buy). If you are a long standing regular client- or want to become one- your regular treatments will be cheaper than one-off bookings. I will be keeping the bundle offers for those of you who want to bulk buy and spread your treatments out at your convenience too (these will be discounted to the monthly price).

I’m also excited to introduce a new treatment: a 2.5/3 hour holistic ritual designed to guide you into transformative rest and repair. This includes a full-body lymphatic massage, complemented by a deep tissue release for the face, head, neck, and shoulders. The experience concludes with a peaceful moment, where you can unwind with soft music, tea, and a light snack—giving you time to reflect and fully integrate either in quiet solitude or with me by your side. This will be available to book from 14th April.

If you are after a one-off treatment, or thinking about trying an initial appointment with me, book in before 14th April and save yourself a few bob. 💷

The Face Massage begins with a cleanse and floral steam to purify the skin and warm the muscles ready for some deeper work. A gentle lymphatic massage follows to reduce puffiness and promote relaxation. Next comes a deeper muscular release focused on the face, neck, shoulders, and scalp. To finish the treatment, I cleanse once more before applying a serum suited to your skin type, a nourishing balm and SPF. You’ll leave eased with glowing skin.

If you want to take your experience deeper, the Buccal massage uses intra-oral techniques to target both the inside and outside of the mouth (see last slide). Most people don’t realise how much tension we store in our jaw - this treatment helps release built-up stress and emotions while sculpting and lifting your facial features. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more relaxed, and visibly radiant. To me, this is the perfect example of feeling good to look good.

I found my way into wellness because I wanted to share what had helped me. As a teenager, I realized that after a yoga session or a massage, my nervous system felt more settled - and that calm made it easier to notice little glimmers of joy in my day. Over time, practicing loving-kindness toward myself and others became a habit (though it’s still something I have to work at, especially when life gets tough!). Self-care isn’t selfish - when you fill your own cup, you’re better able to help others fill theirs.

If this sounds like something you need, join me for a gentle Monday evening yoga class at Mawnan Smith Memorial Hall, 6-7 pm, every week (including school holidays). Sliding-scale pricing available. Please book in advance if you can: link in bio.

Lymphatic massage can be an intimate treatment. We have concentrations of lymph nodes the armpits, abdomen, and groin, and I will always ask for your consent before touching these areas. It’s completely normal to feel ticklish, nervous, or hesitant about being touched in certain places. Your comfort and sense of control are my top priorities.

During your first appointment, we’ll take time to discuss your boundaries, and I will check in with you again during the treatment to make sure you feel comfortable. Your preferences may evolve over time — many clients initially choose to skip certain areas and later decide to include them once they feel more familiar with me, the techniques I use, and how their body responds.

If you’re curious about the benefits of massage but feeling uncertain, please know that you are always in control. After having surgery in 2023 that left me feeling very vulnerable, I discovered the profound relaxation that comes from a face massage when I wasn’t ready for full body work. If you’re highly sensitive to touch, starting with a facial massage can be a gentle and supportive way to explore the benefits of bodywork at your own pace.

Your comfort matters. I’m here to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to listen to your body’s needs.

Mindful Daily Workout

Mindful Daily Workout started as an Instagram blog created as a way for Erin to share her experiences and spread a message of acceptance. Trained as a yoga teacher and having practiced TM for over 5 years, Erin wants to share her discoveries on how to enrich daily life.

The aim is to help you find balance through movement and advice on physical exercise, yoga, food and meditation. Life ebbs and flows with the tides; daily mind-body practices enable us to live happier, more productive and more fulfilling lives.

Erin’s past (and hopefully future) in competitive sport means that physical training is understood to be essential to living with peace and vitality. All workouts engage the mind and body. But workouts can sometimes come with anxieties and pressures, creating mental barriers to overcome. Combining training with mindful movement and meditation practices makes mindfulness part of the training programme. It also highlights the connection between mental approach and physical results (mind-body connection!). Erin often writes about her experiences when training and finding different ways to keep going when the going gets tough. This is balanced with a strong practice of acceptance when your body is telling you that some days, you don’t have to push yourself through pain, self love at these times can take a lot of gumption. This balanced approach to ‘working out’ lends itself to building habits that improve your experiences in all aspects of life.

Erin has a very open and explorative approach to her own practice which catalyses exciting discoveries and shifts in mindset that she is passionate to share. Mindful practices have had a profound impact on the way Erin lives her life and overcomes daily obstacles. Through classes and encouragement to stay on a path that is authentic to you, Mindful Daily Workout promotes presence and positivity through:
