Beautiful day in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Inspiring afternoon at Curi Cancha rainforest reserve in the expert hands of David who’s a fountain of passionate knowledge about local flora and fauna (especially birds!) and took some amazing photos and videos for us. The enormity of strangler fig trees is stunning… and bell bird calls are defo the most bizarre sounds I’ve heard from a bird. Thanks for keeping this part of the world so magical! Long may the cloud forest survive.

Feeling fortunate to be visiting Mexico for a few days en route to Costa Rica, soaking in a total change of scene and slowing my roll after an intense time setting up the falmouthactivehealthcollective on Falmouth High Street. I find Mexico City a place of stark and sometimes heartbreaking contrast: brightly contrasting colours and flavours arresting the senses, disturbing riches and poverty juxtaposed at every turn. Young girls with brave faces juggle for coins at stop lights, babies strapped to their backs, gazing at the shining SUVs of the rich as they wait for the lights to change to green. Catching the eye of a man playing a pipe on a street corner, I feel like a stranger in this mega-City of chaos and also as though we are all connected here in this wonky world.

🎳 I’ve just learned that my sister’s birthday is also National Day of The Dude. Hilarious. The Big Lebowski is a big fave in our family, ironic as we aren’t the best at being lazy… Today I’ve been all around the houses chasing a lost domain name, to find it all come right in the end (phew, Falmouth Active Health is live again). Perhaps working all day and ending up where I was yesterday doesn’t quite count as the spirit of Dudeism, but it left me relating with a smile to a blurb about National Dude Day: “Today, you’re not going to win; you’re not going to lose; and more than likely won’t achieve anything. We support you! Your job is to exist, remain calm, and go with the flow of whatever the day brings. Basically, whatever happens, happens.” 🎳 🎳

Moving to rope wasn’t easy to start with - including a proper “what was I THINKING???” moment. But I think I’m falling in love with its dynamic strength and my growing freedom of expression in the air. Fair enough I’m no pro, but I’m having a lot of fun… 🤩

Smiling to myself as I look back over the little stash of business cards I’ve kept to remind myself how far I’ve come.

As I say goodbye to “Reflexation” this month and re-launch as “Move Rest Be”, it’s easy to get lost in the tidal wave pushing me forwards. I’m SO excited about offering Five Element acupuncture and facial acupuncture, o can hardly contain it!

But… I’m taking a pause here to look back and be grateful, for the path I’ve already taken. There have been many ups and downs; oceans, worlds even of learning and realising how much is yet to learn; kind and inspiring people, especially those who have taught me and put up with my geeky ways.

With gratitude to everyone and everything Reflexation, it’s time for a new chapter. I hope you enjoy following the upcoming adventures of Move Rest Be! ❤️
