Tonight’s treats were simply delicious! 🍅🧀

Our residents enjoyed freshly made tomato bread, perfectly topped with a wonderful selection of cheeses – a lovely savoury combination that went down a treat.

To finish, we indulged in a delightful sweet treat, rounding off a cosy and enjoyable evening for everyone 💛

There were plenty of smiles all round and lots of happy tummies! 😊

A huge thank you to our wonderful chef Vicki for treating us to the most delicious, melt-in-the-mouth biscuits, served warm straight from the oven! 🍪✨

They were enjoyed by everyone and gave us just the boost we needed ahead of our Keep Fit class with Ross 💪🧘‍♀️

At Willow Tree, we just do what we do, and although we know our staff are amazing, reviews like this just show how amazing our staff are!! :)
"I cannot understate how thankful I and the wider family are that our Mother, Grandmother and Great GrandGrannie was a resident at Willow Tree Lodge for the last 4 months of her life. The care she received was truly outstanding and was delivered with care and compassion. Mum regarded it as home from the moment she entered the door - we felt that she was wrapped in love by people who treated her as family, right until the very end. Her dog was welcomed as a regular visitor by staff and residents alike which made a huge difference . Communication was excellent (including from the visiting GP) - nothing was ever too much trouble. We have taken a lot of comfort from knowing that she received truly outstanding care from the whole Willow Tree Team and was happy during her final few months. Thank you feels like it will never be enough. We cannot recommend Willow Tree Lodge enough so, if you are considering care options for your loved ones, please contact them to arrange a visit."

I met with our local MP today to talk about the ongoing challenges facing adult social care funding — a topic that means a great deal to so many in our community.

This wasn’t just a policy discussion. It was about real people — families doing their best, dedicated care workers under pressure, and individuals who deserve dignity, respect, and the right support in their daily lives. Hearing and sharing these experiences is never easy, but it’s so important.

I made it clear that we need fair, sustainable funding and meaningful action. Our community cannot afford to have these vital services stretched any further.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their stories. Your voices matter more than you know, and I will continue to stand up and speak out for you.

💛 A Beautiful 70th Anniversary Celebration 💛

Jack and Shirley enjoyed a truly special day celebrating their incredible 70th Wedding Anniversary with us at Willow Tree Lodge 🥂

After spending the morning reminiscing over their treasured wedding memories and opening their cards (including a very special message from His Majesty The King 👑), they headed out for a romantic lunch at Cams Mill.

The happy couple enjoyed a delicious meal together and raised a glass of their favourite rosé wine to 70 wonderful years of love, laughter and memories 🍷💞

Following their outing, they returned home to relax with a cuppa and reflect on such a meaningful and joyful day ☕

What a privilege it has been to share in such a remarkable milestone. Congratulations Jack and Shirley – your love story is truly inspiring 💕

Following a recent mock inspection, designed to prepare us for our next official Care Quality Commission (CQC) visit, our home achieved an overall mock rating of “Outstanding.”

This internal review looked at the same key areas the CQC assesses – safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.

While this is NOT an official CQC rating, we’re incredibly proud of the dedication and compassion our team shows every day to the people who live here.

We are currently looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant to join our care home team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a home that prides itself on delivering exceptionally high standards of care and creating a warm, supportive environment for our residents.

Position: Care Assistant
Hours: 12–36 hours per week (part-time or full-time available)
Working Pattern: 2 weekly rolling rotation for work/life balance. Includes alternate weekend working
