🎊🐎 Happy Chinese New Year! 🐎🎊

This evening we are delighted to be celebrating Chinese New Year – the Year of the Horse here at the home.

The Horse symbolises strength, energy and good fortune, and what a wonderful way to welcome the year together — with delicious food and even better company!

A very special thank you to Nan, one of our amazing carers, for preparing such beautiful and authentic Chinese dishes for us all to enjoy. Your kindness and talent made the evening extra special.

And thank you to Vicki for helping with the preparation — teamwork truly makes celebrations like this possible.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the flavours, the atmosphere and learning more about the traditions behind this special celebration. 🧧✨

🎶✨ Musical Afternoon Magic ✨🎶

This afternoon we enjoyed a wonderful musical singalong David! 🎤🎵

Residents were treated to a lovely selection of songs, with plenty of toe-tapping, singing along, and smiling faces all around. Music truly does bring back special memories and creates such a warm, happy atmosphere in our home.

A big thank you to David for providing such fantastic entertainment — we’re already looking forward to the next one! 💛

🥞 Shrove Tuesday Celebrations! 🥞

Today we marked Shrove Tuesday with a delicious change to our usual menu – and it certainly went down a treat!

Our residents enjoyed a tasty lunch of chicken and chips served in a basket, bringing a lovely feel to the lounges🍗🍟

To follow, everyone was treated to individually prepared pancakes with a wonderful choice of toppings. Residents could choose from:
🍋 Lemon
🍓 Strawberries
🍯 Honey
🍁 Maple syrup
🍫 Chocolate
🍬 Sugar
🍦 Cream

There were lots of smiles around the room as everyone tucked in and shared their favourite combinations. It was a lovely afternoon filled with good food, laughter and sweet treats!

A very special thank you to Vicki for preparing such a delicious treat for everyone – it was absolutely wonderful and very much appreciated. 💛

We hope everyone enjoyed our Shrove Tuesday celebrations as much as we did!

On Saturday we celebrated Valentine’s Day with warmth, laughter and lovely memories ❤️

Valentine’s isn’t only about romance – it’s about all the special people who have touched our lives. We spent time remembering not only the loves we once had, but also the dear friends who have shared our journeys over the years.

Our residents wrote beautiful messages and memories to hang on our Memory Trees, filling the room with touching words and heartfelt reflections.

Of course, no celebration is complete without something sweet! We enjoyed delicious treats and had great fun decorating homemade biscuits – there were some very creative designs (and a few extra sprinkles enjoyed along the way!).

It was a day full of smiles, stories and friendship – reminding us all that love comes in many wonderful forms 💕

What a joyful morning we’ve had! 🎶👏

Our lounge was filled with music, smiles, and laughter as we sang our hearts out, tapped our feet, and even clapped along to the beat. Some wonderful voices, lots of rhythm, and plenty of happy moments shared together 💛

Music really does lift the spirit – and today it had us all smiling from ear to ear. We’re already looking forward to the next sing-along with Ian!🎵😊

We’re incredibly proud to announce our very first Employee of the Month! 👏
A huge congratulations to Liv for being recognised for their hard work, dedication, and for always going above and beyond for our residents, families, and team. 💙

We’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to submit nominations. The response was amazing and truly shows how supportive and appreciative our team is of one another.

Recognising hard work and commitment is so important to us. It reminds us that the little (and big!) things make a huge difference, and that going the extra mile never goes unnoticed.

Today we took a joyful stroll back to the good old days, reminiscing about the wonderful dance halls of the 1950s 🎶
The music, the fashion, the romance… and of course, the dancing! 💕

There were plenty of smiles, toe-tapping, and stories shared about first dances, favourite tunes, and nights that felt magical ✨
It turns out the rhythm never really leaves you — it just waits patiently for the next song 💃🕺

What a fantastic afternoon we’ve had at the Willow Tree Lodge today! 🎤🎵
Residents and staff enjoyed a wonderful sing-along with Deb, filling the room with smiles, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping fun. From familiar favourites to lively tunes, the atmosphere was buzzing and everyone joined in, whether singing along, clapping, or dancing in their seats.

Moments like these really lift spirits and create such happy memories. A huge thank you to Deb for bringing so much energy and joy to our afternoon – we’re already looking forward to the next one! 💃🕺✨
