The holidays finally came to end in bit of a blur, with both children back to school on Monday. This is the first year since having children that I worked through the whole summer with 2 long days and 2 late evenings a week and rest with the kids - I might actually need a holiday myself now! The juggle is real 🙈 especially as I had to study too but I’m feeling like a winner as I survived and the children are happy! This week has been about massage - massage - massage, with the sunshine pouring in through the window what’s not to love. Have a wonderful Wednesday x

Here we go again, just spent my second night in Birmingham and another day of learning ahead of me. My original selfie was horrendous, having spent the entire evening studying muscles ready for more assessments today - so instead here’s my other enormous pet who’s remarkably like a huge dog 😂 😘
Looking forward to getting hands on my next set of case studies over next few weeks. I’ll be in touch to arrange the dates early next week 😁 xx

A number of weeks ago I posted about my thoughts of splitting my social media page into two. One for humans and the other for animals as my animal therapies grow. The feedback was lovely and seams overwhelmingly that you don’t want me to do this but keep them under one. I’m thrilled and this feels right. My business has always been about the physiological and psychological benefits of reflexology and massage and whether you have four legs or 2, paws, hooves or feet the benefits are the same and helping people and animals through touch is my business purpose. There are some exciting times ahead with my human therapies being busier than ever, clinical canine massage therapy starting in just a few months and with the reintroduction of equine therapy on the agenda too.

Rather than write about my business today I thought I would share this lovely lady’s business. South Coast First Aid provides first aid training and provides and installs defibrillators in addition to the training. She also is a first responder to the Ambulance Service. Who better to provide your business or organisation with first aid training than someone who is actually out there making a difference!

Well done for receiving such a well deserved award South Coast First Aid xx

Reflexology 🦶
One of the reasons I promote reflexology is the uncanny and unbelievable accuracy of the imbalances picked up during treatment. A good reflexologist would never claim to heal or even treat a medical condition but you can rebalance the body encouraging the body to heal itself and also bring comfort and support the symptoms of illness or health conditions often reducing symptoms such as IBS and menopause. The closest therapy reflexology can be compared to is acupuncture and follows many same principles within Chinese medicine. After 10 years of providing this therapy I remain in awe of the results and positive effects.

Today has seen clinical human massage to help arthritic discomfort and another to reduce Oedema, oodles of reflexology and then to finish for the afternoon (before I start again tonight) Teddy had his last case study treatment. I am So proud of this little man, in 3 sessions he now walks happily into my house, tail wagging and lays down ready for his treatment when to begin with he stood with his tail between his legs. His wonderful owner has reported that their hydrotherapist has seen a positive difference in him in the last couple of weeks as he’s now more comfortable to sit without leaving his left hind leg out to the side with an improvement in his mobility, his range of movement both in front and behind has increased and he’s so much happier in himself. Today with more trust and relaxation on our side we tackeled the trigger points in his gracilis muscles and quads which he dealt with beautifully. Thank you Julie for the lovely plant and card, it’s been a pleasure to treat him and meet you too, and can’t wait to see you both soon xx

As you know over the last few years I have continued my studies to provide clinical/sports therapy for horses and dogs in addition to the extensive massage and reflexology therapies I provide for humans. Over the last few months I have been considering separating the social media element. Clearly your more than welcome to follow both but it’s a way of ensuring I am more targeted with the information I share and ensure you see only what your interested in seeing which would also help my businesses to continue to grow. As my animal therapies expand I am in no way less committed to my human clinical and holistic therapies.
I will be rolling this out in the coming months and would love your feedback.

I’ve just had a brilliant but long 8 hours of human massages, scar tissue work, reflexology, Indian head massages and aromatherapy with a lovely case study tucked inbeteeen for good measure and look what was waiting for me when I finished! I literally can’t stop smiling, The results say it all. I am absolutely thrilled xx

Beautiful boy Jasper, my 11 year old Saluki cross case study, what an absolute pleasure it has been to massage this sweet boy. Jasper has a number of problems ranging from arthritic changes to lameness, scar tissue and exceedingly tight fascia across his Latissimus Dorsi and external abdominal obliques. His lovely owner reported that after his first treatment he slept and slept and was extremely relaxed, after the second he seamed rejuvenated and has so much more energy and get this is ‘playing again!’ Today was his third and final (for now) as a case study, as soon as I walked in through the door he hopped and jumped all over the place in excitement and then laid straight down ready for his massage. This is his lovely self ready even before my bottom is even on my cusion. Huge thank to his owner for these flowers - so incredibly thoughtful x

Welcome to my new Reflexology clients this week. What a pleasure to have people who have never had it before settle on my couch and try something new but also to be converted utterly and rebook. To watch their breathing change and see them visibly relax. When tension leaves your body it’s a release, sometimes this is marked with the feeling of being lighter, freer, Happier, perhaps more feeling more able to cope, sometimes there is a need to go home and rest and for others being rejuvenated, at times there are tears. The one thing which is guaranteed is that you leave the room feeling different to when you walked in even if it’s just the feeling of being rested with new perspective.

Aromatherapy 🌸
I have been meaning to post about his for months. My inspiration to restart the marketing of my essential oil blends ‘Beautifully Organic’. Thanks to a lovely friend for sharing her purchased oil from a rather well known and upmarket supermarket with me and some girl friends on a day out. The oil smelt lovely as we all rubbed it into our hands and it was labelled as natural so ‘naturally’ I wanted to find out how natural and what was in it, whilst we all took bets on which essential
Oils were included, I was Rather horrified to see the list of 15 ingredients only 4 were connected to aromatherapy inc preservatives which simply were not ‘natural’ and more horrified to see that this small bottle cost £35!
Don’t forget that small businesses can often provide this at a fraction of the cost BUT only if they are fully qualified Aromatherapists and I mean qualified to BLEND not just in the use of preblended oil which would be simply passed on.

At Haven Holistic Therapy, I blend from a large range of essences for holistic and clinical purposes not only for my clients but for other therapists too. Small bottles are £15 and £12 if the bottle is returned to me to be recycled. My Aromatherapy can be used on the skin, in baths, in diffusers, it can be for relaxation/ sleep/ anti inflammatory/ to support menopause symptoms and so many many more health conditions. It was a pleasure to meet dear Teddy today a 9 1/2 yr old Romanian Cross. Teddy is taking part in my case studies to help arthritis and lameness in his left hind, caused by an injury. Teddy came to me at home for this treatment and had to adapt to where he was and who I was. This is a great set of pictures taken from his lovely owner and beautifully shows him looking up at me unsure at first and then resting his head, gradually becoming more comfortable with the massage, even though there were many places which were tight and uncomfortable. I hope to really help Teddy with myofacial pain, a number of strains, comfort and improving his Range of Movement in the coming weeks.
