**client appreciation**

I would like to say a massive well done to my client !!

She recently completed an abseil down the spinnaker tower raising over £500 for asthma + lung UK.

Suffering from severe asthma herself and spending 20 years in and out of hospital whilst being wheelchair bound until December last year.

She has had an incredible journey and is now able to walk independently. What an incredible transformation!!

Well done Nikki xx

Today we said goodbye to one of the gang.

I only knew Claire for a short while but she had an impact on me from the moment that i met her.

Sometimes you meet someone and there is just an instant bond and that's how I felt about Claire.

One of the best things about my job is that I get to hear everyone stories and let me tell you she had some great ones 🤣

She was full of energy and full of life and one thing that meeting her has made me realise is that I want to live life a little more like she did.

Here's the results of my 12 week bulk.

I have to say that I found this harder than I was expecting. Trying to eat high calories and keeping the diet clean meant that the volume of food was hard to digest and there where days where I found it hard to hit my targets.

If I am completely honest I did allow more "junk" food to creep into my diet than I planned but I wanted to enjoy Christmas fully.

Having said that I am very happy with the results and as you can see I have added very little body fat whilst increasing my muscle mass which was the goal.

I have learnt a lot from this process and next time I will be making a few changes.

My advice to make the bulk easier is to
spread the calories throughout the day because trying to eat too much in one go did not work for me. It made me bloated, tired and often with indigestion.

My plan is now to go back to a calorie deficit and to reduce my body fat down to 10%.

I love feedback like this from my clients. This gives me a better felling than any pay day. The only thing that gives me even more of a buzz is seeing clients get results and with the way that this one is training they are just around the corner.

With the year drawing to a close I just want to say thank you to all of you that have made this year a special one.

Clients, friends, family & the gym members that I speak to daily, you have all shown me a phenomenal amount of support and I am truly appreciative of everything.

This year has been my most successful one to date and I feel incredibly lucky to have such loyal and dedicated clients.

Being a positive part of peoples lives means absolutely everything to me and I am blessed to be able to work in an industry where I can really make a difference.

I wish you all a happy new year and cannot wait to be a part of your 2023

Exercising to improve your mental health

Exercise helps our body pump out endorphins. We all know that Endorphins are the body’s ‘feel great’ drug that give us a natural high when we get moving. But there are other benefits of exercise if you would like to improve your mental health.

Exercise gives you some YOU time. Let’s face it, life is busy with work, families and friends so by getting out and exercising you are allowing yourself a bit of time to switch off and get away from the stresses of modern life.

It may seem simple, but when you exercise you are helping create a leaner, healthier body. This is turn will help you feel more confident about yourself and your appearance.

If you like to train with friends it gives you an opportunity to talk whilst doing something productive. Talking through your issues has been proven to reduce anxiety and depression.

Exercise helps the body combat and prevent chronic disease. Why is this good? Well, not only will it mean you will live a longer, healthier life – many chronic conditions can be linked with an increase in mental health conditions so you will be putting in the hard yards to keep your mind healthy too.

If you would like to talk further about improving your mental health with exercise please feel free to send me a message.

The importance of self compassion !!

When you go off track do you beat your self up? Do you feel low, guilty and disappointed?

So often I see people punish themselves when they miss the gym or eat something off plan. But let me ask you this ... would you talk to your friends and family the way that you talk to yourself ? If someone made a mistake would telling them that they are a failure make them more motivated? Would making them feel guilty help the situation? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

So why would you do that to yourself 🤷🏻‍♂️

One of the most important traits that I have seen in successful clients is their ability to show self compassion when they go off track. None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes during our journey and that includes me !!

Next time you skip a gym session or eat something off plan ... show yourself some compassion and see if you get back on track more quickly !!
