The company was established in 1861 by Michael Coghlan and is currently run by Richard Coghlan, the fifth generation of the family.

We have records dating back to 1881, when Richard’s great great grandfather, Michael Coghlan, ran the business. The records show that in the early 1900’s we were general carpenters, but in those days most local carpenters also took care of the funerals, as they had the materials and expertise to make the coffins.

Frosty start for staff at Coghlans.

Please take care if you are travelling today, and ensure appropriate precautions are taken to stay safe in the cold weather.

We have laid rock salt at Fareham office to mitigate slipping risks on the approach to the front door. We will ensure all visitors and staff are made aware to exercise extra care when using the steps at the Gosport office today due to potentially icy conditions.
