Have you ever dressed up for a day at the races? 🏇🎩🌸 Today, we brought a touch of Ascot to the office!

Our team embraced the Ascot spirit with stylish dresses, fabulous hats, and even a racehorse making a special appearance, all in support of our "Be a Santa" Campaign. 🎅

Every week until Christmas, we'll be taking on a new themed dress-up day to raise funds and spread a little extra joy to those who need it most. It's all about having fun while making a difference!

Emma is our Office Administrator and Care Professional.

"I’m Emma, proud mum to my 16-year-old daughter—she’s my world 💛

I’ve been part of Home Instead Fareham & Gosport since 2014, working both as a Care Professional in the community and supporting the team in the office. I’m passionate about helping our clients stay independent at home, while also giving families the chance to focus on simply being family again.

With over 30 years in healthcare, I’ve worked across hospitals, emergency care, and even volunteered with a rock rescue team in the Peak District—yes, that included hanging off cliffs!

I also hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health Care (Mental Health) and love supporting both our clients and fellow Care Professionals.

Outside of work, life is busy being a “dance mum” 🎭 but when I get a moment, I enjoy gaming and family trips to the beach—especially bodyboarding in the waves" 🌊

With temperatures rising, it’s important to take extra care of ourselves and our loved ones during the warm weather 💙

At Home Instead Fareham & Gosport, we’re encouraging everyone to stay safe in the heat by:
💧 Drinking plenty of water
🧴 Wearing sunscreen and light clothing
🏡 Keeping homes cool with blinds and curtains shut
🚶 Avoiding too much time outdoors during the hottest part of the day
📞 Checking in on elderly neighbours, friends, and relatives

Older adults can be more vulnerable in hot weather, so a simple phone call or visit can make all the difference 💙

This week, our team proudly wore blue in support of Dementia Action Week and the Alzheimer’s Society’s Forget Me Not Appeal 💙

Did you know that 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will develop dementia? The Alzheimer’s Society’s message this year is clear — “It will take a society to beat dementia.”

From bright blue outfits to subtle touches of colour, we came together to raise awareness, spark conversations, and show support for those living with dementia and their families.

At Home Instead, supporting people living with dementia is something very close to our hearts, and we’re proud to stand alongside the Alzheimer’s Society in helping ensure nobody faces dementia alone.

Meet Chelsea our Scheduler.

"I started at Home Instead in 2021 as a Care Professional and absolutely loved the role. As my family grew, I gradually increased my hours and became even more involved. Earlier this year, I progressed into a scheduling role, which I’m really enjoying as a new challenge—while still getting out to care for our wonderful clients.

Outside of work, my husband and I have been married for 12 years and have three energetic boys who definitely keep us on our toes! I’m also a big fan of darts and play in the ladies Gosport and Fareham leagues—sometimes even in fancy dress! As a family, we love spending quality time together, especially on days out and trips to theme parks."
