Ahead of this year's Wave of Light on Wednesday, 15 October at 7pm, we would like to invite you to light a virtual candle in memory of your baby or babies🕯️

It may be that you can't make the Wave of Light this year, or want to sit it out. Or you might be taking part this year and would like to commemorate your baby or babies in different ways 💖💙

Whatever you are doing this year, join us in remembering our babies.

If you named your baby, you can add their name. If you didn't, you could:
📆 include a significant date to your dedication
⌨️ type “baby (surname)” in the comments of this post
🖼️ add a photo to your dedication

💙🌸 Baby Loss Awareness Week 🌸💙
9th – 15th October 2025

This week we come together with families across the country to remember all the precious babies who are sadly no longer with us.

As part of Baby Loss Awareness Week, we will be organising special Sands Ribbon Displays at the following locations:

📍 On the car park gates at 295 Iffley Road, Oxford, OX4 4AQ
📍 On the car park gates at 14A Market Place, Faringdon, SN7 7HP
📍 On the tree outside 9 Knights Road, Blackbird Leys, OX4 6HU

💙🩷Ribbons will be available during office hours for you to tie on the gates or tree in remembrance.

Each ribbon is a symbol of love, support, and remembrance for bereaved parents and families, reminding us that no one should have to grieve alone.

We invite you to take a moment of reflection when passing by the displays, and to join the global Wave of Light by lighting a candle at 7pm on Sunday 15th October, in memory of all the babies who are loved and missed every day.

Raising awareness one ribbon at a time

9th October - 15th October

Together we remember our babies, raise awareness of the support available and raise funds to improve care and support, and save more babies' lives.
Sands is the leading baby loss charity in the UK. They aim to save babies lives and support bereaved families.

During the 9th of October and the 15th of October we will be coming together with families across the country to remember all the precious babies who are sadly no longer with us. We will be organising Ribbon displays at the following locations:

they have a wide range of self-fire tribute fireworks that have been specially designed to incorporate part of your loved one’s ashes for you to fire at your own convenience in a location of your choice. They can also be delivered to addresses in the mainland U.K. by a specialist carrier for ease, so you don’t need to worry about organizing the collection.

They also offer a professionally fired tribute displays, which are organized and fired by their team of British Pyrotechnics Association qualified operators, and these provide a truly spectacular send off for your loved one.
