Paying Your Respects

communities showed their respect as a hearse passed by, this involved members of the public bowing their head and perhaps removing their cap. In more recent years cars would also have given way as a cortège approached. Sadly these traditions are now not seen as often.

In these difficult days when funerals have to be restricted to immediate family only, can we encourage our communities to play their part in
re-introducing this tradition.

With bereaved families facing so many restrictions it will be a great source of comfort for them to know that they are not alone at this time.

Sadly passed away peacefully at Isis Care Home on 7th July 2025, aged 93 years.

Jean's funeral service has been arranged to take place at Lavender Hill Cemetery Chapel on Monday 28th July 2025 at 12 noon.

Sadly passed away peacefully on 24th June 2025, aged 83 years.
A cherished mum, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Josephine's funeral service has been arranged to take place at South Oxfordshire Crematorium on Friday 25th July 2025 at 12 noon.

A Big Thank You to Adam!

This week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Adam for his work experience placement here at Jackson & Browning Funeral Services in Oxford.

From assisting with funeral arrangements to helping transport loved ones to and from the mortuary, Adam got stuck in with every aspect of the week — and did so with a level of professionalism well beyond his years.

We received lovely comments from families about how respectful and composed he was, and how reassuring it was to see a young person taking such care in an industry that means so much to so many.

It's not every day we get to say that work experience was actually fun — but Adam brought a great energy to the team, and we genuinely enjoyed having him with us.

Well done, Adam! You're a credit to yourself and your family — and who knows, maybe we’ve found a future director in the making!
