Spring Equinox is a time of unity. To appreciate the beauty of our planet in unison. A rebirth of friendships and relationships; a time for renewal.
Today @ 09.37 GMT time Spring Equinox (meaning Equal Night) or the Vernal (meaning freshness of the land) commences.
What can that mean for you? A time of self-growth or rebirth, a time to change your mindset, regain more balance, to enable you more time for yourself. To take a new path, a new job, or make a complete career, change, move house, or again just reclaim yourself.
Spring is a super time to make those long-awaited health and wellbeing changes to eat cleaner, drink more water, and very importantly get more sleep. If you struggle with Insomnia, reach out to me, I am the Queen of sleeping techniques :)
You may consider now is a great time to take up yoga, and or meditation. Do it! you won't regret it.
It could mean a good spring clean, replanting the garden or window boxes, to turn off the heating, open the windows and doors, then breathe in new air deeply.
You might commit to taking a walk daily walk, breathing in the new day as it evolves closer to Summer.
For some of us over 50's, you may finally just appreciate and accept that you prefer Radio 2 and 4 now (a tough one for me to admit)!.
Historically and still today Spring Equinox means the coming together of various tribes to create new ties in the face of the new sun; a rebirth for relationships. For use, the Pagans and Druids will be at Stonehenge from dawn break to celebrate and conduct their spring rituals for the coming season.
Why today?โฆ.. Astronomically it means at 09.37am GMT time as the earth races through the earth at 66,000 mph, our daylight hangs in perfect balance. This is the first of the four โsky pointsโ in our Wheel of the Year and it is when the sun does a perfect balancing act in the heavens. At the North Pole, the sun will blaze from today for the next 6 months, here the days will elongate. Despite the chaos of the universe, our world sits in cosmic peace.
The sun crosses the equator line, heading north in the sky. Only at this time will we have the sun and moon at equal measure, the moment the Earth's Equator on its axis passes the same plane of the Sun's equator, moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere and the North Pole begins to lean toward the sun again.
Wishing you all a fabulous Spring Equinox,
Faith xx
