The Board of Directors of FMC are sad to see a Lodge closing, particularly a lodge that has met at FMC for so long, however we wish the lodge a successful final meeting, and hoping the majority of lodge members will go onto join lodges that meet at FMC.

The Worshipful Master and Brethren of the Ferneberga Lodge invite you to the 510th and closing Ceremony of the Lodge.
The meeting will be conducted by the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. Jonathan Whitaker and his Team of Provincial Officers.

We warmly invite Brethren to attend this moving but reflective meeting, and support us as we close the Lodge, whilst preserving it’s memory and embark on the continuation of the members Masonic journey in Hampshire Freemasonry.

The Meeting will take place at the Farnborough Masonic Centre, at 6:30pm on Wednesday 5th April. You are welcome to dine afterwards at the centre, where the Lodge will have a 6-course dinner with wine included.

Happy New Year (6023 Anno Lucis) to all our members.

*****FMC Update*****

Over the Christmas Period our Facilities team lead by Adrian Cooper have made great progress on our car park project. We now have installed the barrier.

The barrier which is only the first stage in the project, and will not be put into use until other stage of the project are complete. All members of the centre will be given plenty of notice on new access arrangements for the car park prior to them being implemented.

The car project will improve both safety for members and also the security of the centre following a number of near misses and security issues. Lastly the securing of the car park will allow in the long term aim of FMC being able to charge local businesses for using the car park, a number of which are currently utilising the car park with out permission.

Brethren all,

For 2023, your friendly Bookings Secretary has consolidated nearly 700 Regular Meetings, Rehearsals, Classes of Instruction, Committee Meetings and Dining bookings, for 29 resident units and four guest units, plus other users.

The attached (which has also been distributed directly to all unit secretaries (or equivalent) shows the bookings for January - please check for your unit(s), and let the Booking Secretary know of any errors or omissions via Bookings@TheFMC.org.uk

Polite reminder - Cars parked in the entrance to centre can cause a risk to other drivers. We are not sure if this is a centre member or a local resident, however we need to ensure that cars are only parked within the car park. Therefore when driving into the centre please beware cars maybe parked in the entrance. We are working on methods to prevent this.

Update: We were asked at the FMC QC about putting up more pictures. We have installed a number of pictures, photos, historical Masonic items around the centre. There is a drawback that some of our private lettings and weddings have indicated they prefer a more neutral look so our lettings income may reduce hopefully not significantly as the revenue stream greatly assists with our finances.

Massive thank you to all those that supported our FMC MacMillan Coffee Morning last week. So far we have raised £166.88 with still some donations to come in. If you would still like to donate please contact Paul Widdowson our Marketing Director on Marketing@theFMC.org.uk

Also a big thank you to Paul Widdowson for arranging the event, Paul provided tea, coffee and also sourced the cups, when our caterer choose not to support the event.

Today’s MacMillan coffee morning is off to a great start. Lots of cake still available and still time to get down to FMC to support MacMillan.

We are looking at running a Fire Marshall Course and a Basic Life Support including (use of Defibrillator) Course on Saturday 29th October between 0900 - 1700 at FMC. At this point we just gauging if there is enough interest to run the course. There is a requirement that at least 1 Fire Marshall is present at every meeting at FMC and that 1 person is nominated as the appointed person for first aid.

Reminder we have our MacMillan Coffee morning on Friday, I have been informed there will be some rather delicious cakes on offer!

Hopefully we can beat last year’s total amount raised.

Did you know we have 2 stairlifts at FMC? These can be used by any of the centre users, however we do require the operator to be aware of the correct method operation as using them incorrectly can render the chair unserviceable for future users.

FMC also has an evacuation chair, if your Lodge/Chapter/Unit has anyone attending a meeting on the first floor who would not be able to use the stairs in an evacuation, there must be at least 2 people trained at the meeting who can operate the evacuation chair and are aware of the FMC evacuation plan.

Do you require an access Fob for the centre?

If you require an access fob for the centre to use when attending meeting/LOIs etc please contact your Secretary, who should order Fobs from hello@theFMC.org.uk. We only take orders for Fobs through secretaries to maintain the security of the centre.

Our door entry system is managed by our IT & Communications Director Alex Green and maitained by our Facilties Director Adrian Cooper.
