Babies under 1yr shouldn’t use thick, fleecy, weighted or padded bedding (even when it’s freezing!). If your little one’s body* is still cold while they’re in their baby sleep bag or under a lightweight blanket, you can add an extra layer of clothing such as a vest under their PJs.

*It’s normal for babies’ hands and feet to be cold so don’t worry about this

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself on here so thought I would share a bit about Me & my love for Hypnobirthing 🥰

Hi, I am Wendy, Hypnobirthing Instructor, Midwife, Doula & Co Founder & Owner of The Little Birth Company. The Little Birth Company is an award winning and leading provider of Hypnobirthing Classes and Hypnobirthing Teacher Training in the UK and Globally.

I am Mum to Charlie & Alfie, Step Mum to Leah & Carys, Nanna to Lowen and married to Paul. Born and bred in Manchester I’ve been living down South since I qualified as a Midwife in 1997.
I started off my career in the birth world by following my childhood dream and training as a Midwife back in the 90s.
Following 3yrs training I worked as a Midwife at a busy Maternity Unit in Berkshire for the bulk of my Midwifery Career. Supporting pregnant and birthing women & families has and always will be my passion however my day job saw me venturing down the path of sexual health where I managed the sexual health outreach team for the NHS for over 11 years.
During the years and in between having my own two children, both incredibly positive experiences, I couldn’t help but reflect on the frequent traumatic journey’s to birth that I witnessed on so many occasions.
I first discovered Hypnobirthing following the birth of my eldest son which prompted a return to Midwifery. On one of my last shifts at the local Maternity Unit I was lucky enough to support an incredible couple who were using Hypnobirthing for the birth of their first son. I was hooked. I had no idea what Hypnobirthing actually was but I was blown away by how this mama birthed her baby comfortably and confidently with epic support from her birth partner. In all honestly I had become disillusioned about birth, endless intervention which seemed to dominate the majority of births. It had become a rare site to see someone actually birth their baby without interference or interventions that in so many births felt unnecessary! Medicalised births seemed to be the norm rather than the exception and it was becoming apparent that a large percentage of women were experiencing significant trauma as a result of their birth experience.

I am so excited to be re launching my Group Hypnobirthing Classes in North Camp and surrounding areas 🙌

My private classes have been getting super busy and so many of you have been looking for the opportunity to meet other local pregnant families whilst getting the best in birth education 💕

So today I thought I’d share with you my other favourite space! This is my OILY corner and I love it!

I can’t tell you how many times I navigate to this corner every day!

Oils are such a central and key part of my life, I just love them.

Whether it’s something to calm me, soothe a cough, support tummy aches, banish headaches, relax, give me energy, clear our bunged up airways, boost our immune systems or even to stop my husbands snoring! (It really works!)

These oils support me and my family in day to life and in my business.

They are a wonderful addition to my birth business and my coaching business and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my Reiki Healing next year!

It’s not about replacing conventional medicine, but when it takes 3weeks to get just a phone consultation with my GP I’m so glad that I can go to my little Oily corner and support both mine and my families wellbeing.

I’m loving my new little workspace! I don’t know about you but my surroundings are super important when it comes to me feeling inspired 🥰

In the early days of my business I used to just sit on the sofa, laptop on my knee and it worked for a while. But when I realised it was time to get serious about my business it felt right to carve myself out a gorgeous little work space. I’ve had a few over the years, as our family has grown I’ve moved about the house trying to find a place for me.

But this space, I love it, it feels like me and I’m feeling so excited for 2024 and what I’m creating and working on.

I didn’t know Nicky in person but that doesn’t lessen the impact I have felt from following Nicky’s journey for the last few years.
