Despite a cold and wet spring, the wildflowers are at last emerging at Monument Meadow. The blue cornflowers are particularly dramatic. Huge thanks to Kings Crops for their K54 seed mix and for helping maintain this beautiful resting place.

We’ve planted some lovely new meadow flowers for 2023.

Bird’s-foot-trefoil, whose yellow flowers look like little slippers, pretty pink musk mallow, cow parsley and large white oxeye daisies are really showing through now at Monument Meadow after some much welcome rain following the recent hot dry spell.

We’ve also got songbirds nesting by the wooden pavilion and an inquisitive owl has been spotted in the tree line near the new owl box. Along with our gentle mown paths through the meadow, it’s all a picture of beauty and tranquility and a peaceful place to pause and remember a loved one.

We are proud to have won an industry award for our customer service and would like to thank all the families who took the time to complete and return feedback forms.
The burial ground was Regional Runner Up for the North West in this year’s annual People’s Awards for the Best Natural Burial Ground in the UK.
The awards, which have been running for over 25 years, are open to members of the Association of Natural Burial Grounds and organised by The Natural Death Centre charity.
The accolade is based solely on feedback from families who have laid loved ones to rest.

Monument Meadow is a 5-acre natural burial ground located in South Cheshire on the edge of Farndon village with charming views across rolling countryside and the Clwydian Range.

We’ve installed eight bird boxes with various sized entrances at to attract all sorts of including nuthatches, tree sparrows and blue t**s. Next month we’ll add a tall pole for the box.
