We’re currently looking for caring, reliable, and enthusiastic people to join our team in the following roles:

👩‍🍳 Bank Kitchen Assistant (flexible hours)
🧹 Housekeeper – 15 hours per week
🎨 Activities Coordinator – 15 hours per week

If you’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and want to be part of a friendly, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Experience is welcome but not essential, what matters most is a kind, positive attitude and a willingness to help others.

As soon as we heard about the birthday card community campaign for Eileen, a resident at our sister home Red Roofs, we knew we had to get involved!

Our residents were so excited to take part and eagerly got creative, making their own special birthday cards to wish Eileen a very happy 105th birthday 🎉

Red Roofs have launched a wonderful campaign, reaching out to the local community with the goal of collecting 105 cards to celebrate Eileen turning 105, such an incredible milestone!

We are delighted to invite all grandchildren and families to join us for a special morning of fun and games.

There will be singing, games, and plenty of laughter to share together. Children bring so much joy to our residents, and family means the world to them, so we thought, what better way to celebrate than having you join us?

Today our “Messy Bakers” got busy trying their hand at making delicious chocolate chip cookies 🍪

From mixing and stirring to plenty of taste-testing along the way, it was a fun-filled activity enjoyed by all. And if we do say so ourselves, they turned out beautifully!

The cookies were the perfect treat to enjoy with our afternoon tea, and they certainly didn’t last long ☕

This week, we tried something a little different, and it was a great success! 🌿

Our residents got creative with air-dry clay, crafting beautiful handmade coasters. Using flowers, leaves, and stamps, they pressed intricate patterns into the clay, creating truly unique designs. The natural textures and details already look absolutely fabulous!

We’re now patiently waiting for them to fully dry before adding a touch of colour to really bring them to life 🎨

This is definitely an activity we’ll be doing again, the results speak for themselves. A wonderful mix of creativity, relaxation, and a chance to try something new!

We’re so proud to shine a spotlight on Katie, one of our incredibly hardworking and dedicated carers 💙

Katie goes above and beyond every single day to support our residents, always bringing kindness, patience, and a warm smile to everything she does. But did you know she also has a very special talent outside of her caring role?

In her spare time, Katie creates beautiful reborn dolls, each one lovingly handcrafted to look just like a real baby. Her attention to detail is truly amazing, and the dolls are so lifelike they often leave people in awe.

What makes this even more special is the joy these dolls bring to our residents. They provide comfort, spark memories, and create moments of happiness and connection that are truly heart warming to see. Whether it’s a cuddle, a smile, or a conversation, Katie’s creations have a wonderful way of brightening days.

Thank you, Katie, for everything you do, not just as a carer, but for sharing your creativity and compassion in such a meaningful way. You make a real difference 💕

Today was a truly special day, as we celebrated Dorothy’s incredible 99th birthday 🎉

It was such a joy to mark this wonderful milestone with her. One of our lounges was beautifully decorated for the occasion, we also added photos of Dorothy from different stages of her life, which sparked lovely conversations and memories throughout the day.

Everyone gathered together to sing Happy Birthday, making the moment even more memorable.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without cake, and this one didn’t disappoint! A huge chocolate cake was shared and enjoyed by all, adding a sweet touch to a very happy day.

What made the celebration even more meaningful was the presence of Sylvia, another one of our lovely residents, who joined us to celebrate.
Dorothy and Sylvia were neighbours for many years, so it was incredibly heart warming to see them together again on such a special occasion. Sylvia kindly brought Dorothy a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Moments like these remind us how important connection, friendship, and shared memories are.

Our St George’s Day celebrations have been full of creativity and fun!

Our residents have been busy making their own dragons and knights to mark the occasion, and it’s been lovely to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the activity together.

To celebrate National Tea Day today, we did things a little differently with our tea trolley ☕

Our residents had the chance to try a range of new and interesting tea varieties, making it a fun and interactive experience for everyone.

Earl Grey proved to be a big favourite, while ginger and lemon… not quite as popular! It certainly sparked plenty of conversation and a few laughs along the way.

Today was extra special at Red Rose as we had a delightful little helper join us.
We had the pleasure of meeting Eva, Nancy's granddaughter, a truly lovely little girl.

Our "messy bakers" whipped up a scrumptious Victoria sponge, while Eva baked some beautiful cupcakes for her parents. It's moments like these, filled with sweetness and family, that make our days so bright!

A few of our lovely ladies enjoyed some special this week in the company of Rhubarb 🐰

Rhubarb is one of our two much-loved rabbits that also live with us here at Red Rose, and plays a big part in our animal therapy sessions 💛

Spending time with animals can have so many wonderful benefits in a care home setting, from reducing stress and anxiety to encouraging gentle interaction, conversation, and emotional wellbeing.
