Stacking on foam blocks isn’t as easy as it looks👀 This is a full-body workout for your dog’s brain and body🧠🐕

By placing limbs on two separate foam blocks we are asking for core and stabilising muscle engagement along with coordination. This also highlights weakness that is not always obvious📝

This basic exercise highlights things like:
• Weight-shifting habits
• Limb weakness
• Postural asymmetries 
• Weak core

A simple trick like stacking gives us a bigger picture of what may be going on (even when standing still!).

Strong core and limb awareness = better posture, safer movement, and more confident dogs✨

🐎Kinesiology Taping 🩹

Kinesiology taping isn’t just for human athletes — it can be a fantastic tool for supporting horses too. When applied correctly, taping can help support muscles and soft tissues without restricting movement.

✨ Benefits of kinesiology taping in horses include:
• Improved circulation and lymphatic drainage
• Reduced swelling and inflammation
• Support for tendons and ligaments
• Enhanced proprioception (body awareness)
• Aiding recovery after injury or exercise

Unlike traditional bandaging, kinesiology tape moves with the horse, allowing for more natural, comfortable movement while still providing support. Our main aim here with Maisie was to reduce swelling in her distal limbs which many horses can be prone to (especially when stood in during extermely cold conditions!)

Moments like this are why my job is so special🥰

Many horses carry subtle, hidden tension at the base of their neck; just where the cervical spine meets the shoulders. This area works hard balancing the head whilst sometimes compensating for poor saddle fit, and responding to rein contact. It’s no surprise that tension builds up here, often without obvious signs until the horse starts showing stiffness, bracing, or difficulty bending✍️

Myofascial release/massage promotes blood flow and aims to release trigger points, improve range of motion and support nervous system regulation✨

Sometimes the smallest releases make the biggest difference🥳

Meet Tala - a gorgeous girl who knows the art of relaxation💆🏽‍♀️✨

This clip was from our session this week where Tala enjoying a laser therapy and massage treatment. This combination helps to ease muscle tension, reduce inflammation, and promote healing🐕

Laser therapy works deep beneath the skin to promote circulation, while massage releases tight muscles (and often helps relaxation!)🐶

Tala is such a rewarding dog to treat, especially when she makes it clear that she enjoys her sessions❤️

A recent review from one of my wonderful clients✨

Indie is a very rewarding horse to treat and he has a super diligent owner who always puts his needs first. By taking time to get to know Indie we have been able to find what does and does not work for him whilst taking things at Indie’s pace🐎

Initially Indie was so sore through his hamstrings that palpating through this area was a little tricky. Now Indie stands calmly throughout our sessions and also seems to enjoy them - even down his hamstrings!🥰

Physiotherapy isn’t just for horses🐶🐱🐴

While I was treating a lovely horse in the summer, the yard dog decided it was their turn for some attention and had a physiotherapy session of their own🐶✨

This is a great reminder that all animals can benefit from physiotherapy, not just our big equine friends. Whether it’s for recovery after injury, managing arthritis, improving mobility, or just keeping them feeling their best, health and wellbeing matters for every species❤️

From the biggest horse to the smallest cat and dog, they all deserve to move comfortably and happily💆🏽‍♀️
