Phyllis Tuckwell, Hospice Care Phyllis Tuckwell is the only adult hospice care service covering West Surrey and North East Hampshire

For over 40 years Phyllis Tuckwell has provided supportive and end of life care to patients and their families living with an advanced or terminal illness in West Surrey and North East Hampshire, serving 550,000 residents. Every day we support over 250 patients, carers and their families in their own homes, in the community, at the Hospice in Farnham (In-Patient Unit, Day Groups, outpatient appoin

tments and through Patient & Family Support) and the Beacon Centre in Guildford (Day Groups, Outpatient appointments and through Patient & Family Support). The NHS/Government usually only covers 20% of our costs, which means we rely heavily on the support and generosity of our local community. All our services are free of charge to our patients and their families, but we need to raise over £25,000 a day to offer such an exceptional standard of clinical care and support.

Thank you so much to Wanner International Ltd and Hi-Speed Services Limited, together with everyone who supported their charity football match the other day.

They raised a fantastic total of £1,346.80 for Phyllis Tuckwell.

“The WhatsApp group has been a great way to keep in touch,” said Brie.

Brie is one of eight carers who met via Teams, at our online carers’ group sessions. These sessions, for the carers of our patients, provide support, advice, and a listening ear. When a loved one is ill, the whole family is affected, and the carers at our groups form strong friendships, supporting each other through difficult times they can all relate to. Brie and the others in her group decided to keep in touch through a Whatsapp group, in between sessions.

“It’s knowing that others are there, so if someone is struggling, we can help,” she said.

If you are going to the Bordon Soap Box 2025 on Sunday or watching on TV, we have two vehicles for you to look out for and cheer on!

Firstly team number 9 - better late than never, and secondly (but equally as fabulous), team number 21 - Kerr and Watson.

Better late than never (pictured by the Phyllis Tuckwell banner) have been getting sponsored for to take part in this and three other soapbox races (if you would like to sponsor them their page is https://www.justgiving.com/page/alex-watts-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL)

Kerr & Watson (pictured with their cheque) have turned their kart into a rolling fundraiser — offering local businesses space for their logos in exchange for donations to Phyllis Tuckwell and they’ve raised an amazing £600.

This ethical shopping helps reduce the huge impact that clothing production has on the environment, and supports charities like us too, who sell quality, donated preloved items to raise money for their cause.

Many of our staff wear preloved, such as Sarah, our Chief Executive. She wore a preloved outfit from our shops every day for a week, to show how you can support a charity, help the planet, and look fabulous!

A charming cottage garden with potting shed, containers, and a small greenhouse. Entry is £3 per adult (under-16s free). Plant sale & refreshments available.
