Experiencing shoulder pain? 💥�

Here’s a 30-second trick that can bring relief, and you can do it anywhere.

This exercise is similar to a lateral raise, however in this case we are performing an isometric contraction (contracting the muscle without it being stretched) against a wall. If this works to relieve pain, you can repeat this a few times a day.

Lessons I learnt writing my new book ✍️📖

1.⁠ ⁠I realised how many patient stories I carry with me — their struggles and wins ended up shaping whole chapters.

2.⁠ ⁠The hardest part wasn’t the science, it was making it simple — translating research into plain English took longer than expected.

3.⁠ ⁠Most people overestimate age and underestimate neglect — decline is not about being “too old,” it’s about neglecting the basics.

4.⁠ ⁠Strength loss after 50 isn’t inevitable — the right type of exercise can reverse muscle loss, even in your 70s.

5.⁠ ⁠The book made me appreciate small wins — one patient learning to walk to the shops again is more powerful than any statistic.

6.⁠ ⁠I had to battle my inner critic — the weight of expectation led to a voice saying “is this good enough?” showing up daily.

7.⁠ ⁠Most people overestimate how much is needed to improve – just 20 minutes, a couple of times a week is enough.

Lastly, It reminded me why I started HT Physio in the first place — to give people practical tools, not fluff or false promises.

There are many ways to perform resistance training without the need for dumbbells or fancy gym equipment ❌

Using just little bit of creativity, you can perform a whole workout routine at home using calisthenics (pure bodyweight training). For the purpose of this exercise however, all you need is a rucksack and a few books.
