Just Pondering…
On my way to my little shoppe this morning, I found myself reflecting on the Munay Ki rites.
For the longest time, I think I held back from sharing or teaching them because I felt I needed to be somewhere out in nature — surrounded by trees, mountains, and open sky. I thought my space on the main road in Kearsley wasn’t the “right” setting.
But the truth is… this is my reality.
The constant hum of traffic, people rushing about their day — that’s the world most of us live in. And the more I’ve sat with it, the more I’ve realised that this is where the real work happens.
Did I need to become a shaman to do this work? No.
Did I need to live in a field, cut off from the modern world? No.
What the Munay Ki rites have actually done is help me appreciate the beauty of this Earth exactly as it is, from where I stand.
Each day I walk to work and hear the traffic humming to my left, and the birds singing to my right — their song never fails to make me smile, even in the rain. I see the trees shifting through their endless cycle of adornments, from blossom to fiery autumn leaves.
Everything I’ve learned over the years, I’ve adapted to fit how and where we live. So why should the Munay Ki rites be any different?
They have worked — and continue to work — for me on a deeply personal level. And that’s why I feel called to share them. These rites were meant to be adapted; otherwise, they would have remained a closely guarded secret of the Andean people. But they chose to share them with the world.
So, if they can bring balance and appreciation into my busy town life, I know they can do the same for others. The Munay Ki rites are for everyone — for every walk of life. They remind us that peace and love can be found anywhere, no matter where we are.
Have a beautiful day no matter what you are doing
Much love
