Move to Mend is a gentle, progressive 6-week Chair Pilates block designed for the next 6 weeks to improve spinal mobility, strength, posture, and confidence in everyday movement.

Using slow, mindful movement and supported exercises, we’ll explore how your spine moves, how it supports you day to day, and how to help it feel more comfortable, strong, and resilient. This block is ideal if you experience stiffness, poor posture, back discomfort, or simply want to move with more ease and confidence.

Each week builds carefully on the last, allowing your body time to adapt while developing awareness, mobility, stability, and functional strength.

Weekly focus:

Week 1 – Posture & Self-Awareness
We begin by exploring posture, alignment, and awareness. Learn how your spine sits, moves, and supports you, laying the foundation for the weeks ahead.

Week 2 – Supple Spine (Mobility)
Gentle spinal mobility to encourage fluid movement, reduce stiffness, and help your spine feel more free and relaxed.

Week 3 – Stretchy Spine
Focused stretching to create space through the spine, improve flexibility, and release tension in a safe, supported way.

Week 4 – Strong Spine (Stability)
We introduce gentle strengthening and stability work to support your spine, improve posture, and build confidence in movement.

Week 5 – Spine Shine in Daily Living
Connecting what we’ve learned to everyday life, sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and moving with greater ease and control.

Week 6 – The Ultimate Spine Shine Combo
A feel-good session bringing mobility, stretch, strength, and functional movement together, celebrating how far your spine has come.

Simple but very effective if you are carrying a lot of tension in your neck!

All you have to do is:

Sit Tall: Drop your shoulders away from your ears.
The Tilt: Gently lower your right ear toward your right shoulder.
Add Weight: For a deeper release, place your right hand lightly on top of your head (don't pull!).
Reach: Extend your left arm toward the floor to feel the line of tension melt away.

Leanne Tip: Keep your jaw relaxed! Clenching makes the stretch less effective. Hold your tongue at the roof of your mouth. (Just try not to talk, or you will sound hilarious) ha ha

✨ Spine Shine – Postural Awareness Session ✨

Do you ever feel like you’re becoming a little more rounded?
A little stiffer getting out of bed or up from a chair?
Carrying tension in your neck, shoulders or lower back?

Spine Shine is a gentle, focused class designed to help you reconnect with your posture and support your spine as you move through life.

In this session we work on:
• Improving postural alignment
• Building strength in the muscles that support your spine
• Releasing tight shoulders and upper back
• Improving balance and body awareness
• Breathing techniques to support stability and ease

Box breath is amazing. Try this a few times when you notice stress, or when your body just isn't feeling quite itself, it's soooo good!

Here's how to do it:

1. Sit comfortably: You can sit in a chair or on the floor. Just make sure your back is straight.
2. Exhale completely: Let all the air out of your lungs.
3. Inhale slowly: Breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Focus on filling your belly with air.
4. Hold your breath: Hold your breath for a count of 4.
5. Exhale slowly: Breathe out through your mouth for a count of 4.
6. Hold your breath again: Hold your breath for a count of 4.
7. Repeat: Do this for a few minutes.

This breathing technique helps calm your nervous system. When you're stressed, your breathing becomes shallow and rapid. The box breath slows down your breathing, which signals to your brain that you're safe and relaxed.

Save this for when you need it, it feels amazing.
