It’s time toannounce the official Spookiest House from Farsley Frights on Halloween night. Our village and the Fright Houses made an astonishing effort and did us proud! The official winner is NUMBER 5 WESTWAY - who win a family photoshoot donated by Gemma Parkman Photography! The pirate theme, live actors and bubble blowing were all super fun and scary!

Thank you to every last house that put out a pumpkin, strung up a spider web, crafted a witch, or sat out in the rain dressed as a bush (you know who you are!) There were lots of votes for the awesome pumpkin carving skills on the Kirklees, the community spirit on Newlands, lovely comments on Farsley Festival’s spooky park witches, the light show on Richmond Road, inflatables on Farfield Avenue, and the skeletons on the New Parks! So many terrifying things to see, and so little time to see them all.

You all did a wonderful job and made an awesome Halloween and Farsley Frights for us all. Thank you!

And last but definitely not least, map number 3, The Haunted Crypt - which had the highest number of entries - so many people out in Farsley on the night! The word you were looking for was HEADSTONE. This prize is donated by The Party Noodles and somebody is in for a good time, as they win a Halloween party cone and a £50 voucher for an awesome party!

Next up, did you go out for map number TWO - The Bone Yard - and spot our Farsley Festival folks and their witchy friends in Hainsworth Park? How cool were they! The prize for the Bone Yard is donated by Diddly Oms - terrifyingly bendy! The word you were looking for was NIGHTMARE!

What was the most terrifying thing about Farsley Frights? Was it that at the stroke of midnight, the Halloween display in the Co-Op turned into a Christmas display? Was it the rain? Or one of our ultra-spooky Fright Houses?

Our COMPETITIONS are being drawn tonight - Thursday 3rd November - and we will award prizes to one family from each map, and the grand prize to our SPOOKIEST HOUSE! Farsley Frights is GO!

Remember to take your TORCH and don’t be stuck to the path - graves pop up in the darkest and spookiest of places.

! Remember not everyone enjoys Halloween events ! If you are trick or treating, search for the Spookies - decorations, pumpkins or other signs a house is taking part in Halloween - and don’t knock without!

Send us your votes for Spookiest House, send us your pictures of you all dressed up, share on the page, and have a terrifying time!

MAPS are still available at The Circle Farsley and in the play area of Hainsworth park where the Farsley Festival team are waiting with spooky surprises.

DONATION tins for contributions to Farsley Festival are open at The Circle and Hainsworth park, take some change if you’d like to. We will have online ways to contribute after the event 🧙‍♀️

Maps maps maps, come and get your maps, special opening hours just for map collections at The Circle Farsley today, from 9am all day until the event begins at 4pm….and beyond as the shop turns into a terrifying Fright House….

This is a big one! Before you head out on the trails tomorrow, think ahead and make note - which of our fanatastically frightful Fright Houses terrified you out of your wits? Which fearsome family went to the most trouble? Which is, the SPOOKIEST HOUSE?

The house with the most votes will win a family photoshoot with Gemma Parkman Photography, and be declared Farsley Frights Spookiest House 2022! We had a winner from map one in 2020 (The Pumpkin Path) and from map three in 2021 (The Violent Vampire’s Venture) - who will it be this year???

Farsley Frights maps are available In Sutcliffe’s, Jasper’s, SCRAP, the post office, and all day tomorrow at The Circle Farsley, which also has Fright House posters ready to collect.

Be safe, be spooky, it will be dark early tonight! 🎃
