Parents: Are you doing the "Spit, Don't Rinse" rule?

Brushing with little ones can sometimes feel like a marathon, but getting the technique right now saves a lot of trouble later! Here are our top 3 tips from the Farsley Dental team to keep those young smiles
sparkling:

⏱️ The Two-Minute Rule: Brush for two minutes, twice a day. The most important time is right before bed, and then at least one other time during the day.

�� Spit, Don't Rinse! This is the one most people get wrong. Encourage your child to spit out the excess toothpaste, but do not let them rinse with water afterward. Rinsing washes away the concentrated fluoride, making the toothpaste much less effective at protecting their enamel.

�� The Age of Independence: We recommend supervising brushing until they are at least 7 or 8 years old. Whether you’re doing the brushing for them or watching them do it themselves, they need that extra eye to ensure they hit every spot for the full two minutes!

Bonus Tip: Try using a fun 2-minute song or a timer app to make the time fly by!

This lovely patient was referred to us at Farsley Dental to address her front teeth, which had unfortunately broken down and were suffering from a persistent infection. When cases are this complex, careful planning is everything. After discussing all the options, we decided on a bespoke plan to restore her
smile without the need for long-term braces:
1️⃣ Guided Implant Surgery: Because her teeth weren't originally in line, we used 3D digital guides to place two dental implants in the exact positions needed for a symmetrical look.
