As many of you know, my wife and I welcomed our son Theodore into the world on the 13th October. In the spirit of this October being a great month, I am extending the discount on initial appointments to the end of the month.

Often pregnancy comes with a lot of aches and pains and women feel that they have to 'just live with it'. But Physiotherapy can really help to ease the pain.

This has been really relevant for my wife this year, with our little one on the way. Early on my wife was experiencing a lot of pain, especially during the night or after sleeping on her side for so long, although a few simple exercises every other day helped her to ease this pain.

It's been a super busy few weeks for me with exams for my prescribing course, so I wasn't able to get the myth busting post out last week. Here is the monthly wellbeing post.

Thought Defusion is a great way of being able to unhook from unhelpful thoughts that get in the way of being able to do the things we want to do. As mentioned before, it can be so tough to approach activities when in pain, and negative thoughts can make this even harder. Thought defusion can be a simple but powerful technique to step back from these thoughts to regain a bit more choice in how we then behave. Feel free to give the example in the picture a go. This is something I really could have used this week for my exams! I was thinking 'I might fail so I'll focus on the resit instead'. Luckily I was able to get my head down and work hard for these exams, but if not, the thought defusion technique could have helped me step back enough to notice and observe these as thoughts rather than fact, to feel a little less hooked onto them and to then be able to focus on revision.
