We would like to share some information regarding The Priority Services Register.

The Priority Services Register (PSR) is a free service provided by your energy supplier to ensure those in the most vulnerable categories receive support with their energy supply and appliances.

You are eligible for the register if you:

-Are of pensionable age

-Are disabled or chronically sick

-Have a long term medical condition

-Have a hearing or visual impairment or additional communication needs

-Are in a vulnerable situation

-Have a child under 5 living at home

See Ofgem for more information

You need to contact your own energy provider to join the register. Some benefits of being on the register are:

-You will receive advance notice of planned power cuts and your energy supplier can provide alternative heating and cooking facilities.

-accessible information e.g large print and Braille.

Suppliers also provide you with a free gas safety check on your gas boiler every 12 months.

You can contact your supplier if you have not had one in the last 12 months.

If you rent then it is usually your landlord’s responsibility to ensure this maintenance is completed.
